The Wajer 77

It seems that Tom Brady has just dropped $6 Million dollars on one of these beauties.

And they are headquartered in the Netherlands. TBH I had never heard of this make.

The yard has been around for some time. In some respects the recent models are a development of the Wally Motor Vessels. A more mainstream/pedestrian version are the Fjord Vessels, built in Northern Germany.

Remarkable is the short cruising range 400 km or 215 knots.

Worth noting the designer is van Oossanen. Though disputed, it seems he was responsible for the hull/keel of AustraliaII in 1983.

And in response to Av's reply, I did not understand the complaint (?) that it would only go for 400 km?

Tom has a smaller boat by the same outfit and he says the main reason he purchased the 77 is so that he can go all the way from Florida where he lives to the Bahamas.

Av is a range of 400 km for a yacht that size not a good range?

The only thing I know about yachts is which ones look cool and seem to have comfortable cabins.

Please understand I am not much of motor yachtsman. The basic measurement is 650* nautical miles, being the distance between Newport RI and Bermuda. I consider the range as limited. I looked at the range of both Fjord though smaller vessels and the English firm Princess (https://www.princessyachts.com/) they seem to offer far greater range.

Yes they look cool! I suspect they are a mega chick magnet.

*650 nm is 748 miles or 1250 km
 400 km is 250 miles or 215 nm

TBH I think I like this Princess even more than the Wajer 77.

Sorry to hear that. TBH I don't get the people who hate on Tom Brady.

I really don't agree with the theory that he's a cheater. All teams try to get an advantage.

The Patriots got caught. That's all it is as I see it. And jealousy. 

Back on topic. What do you think of that Princess Y78?? Man what a boat!
