For those who think that there is only one Kremlin, in fact the word means citadel or fortress. One can find them throughout Russia and some in Ukraine.

Supposedly the kremlins in Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod are amazing and in Ukraine there is Kamianets-Podilskyi, often used in Rood Hood films. But this is more a fortified castle in my estimation.

I've been there many times, and Khotyn also not too far away, but like you say, more fortified castles. In WU, they call them fortresses.

Timely article as I was telling a student about this place just on Friday and she wasn't sure what I was talking about and I wasn't sure if I was remembering the name right. Next time I see her, I can show her this article. :)

The article contains a falsehood which is that Tsar Nicholas abdicated his throne. He did not abdicate his throne, he and  his entire family were assassinated by sadistic Jew Solomon aka Sverdlov.

He did abdicate to make way for his brother. He and his family were executed later.
