Putin Medvedev one-ups-manship over hiring hot photographers

A hot female photographer is hired to be one of President Medvedev's photographers and then Putin hires an even hotter babe, an ex lingerie model, to be one of his photographers.

Yana Lapikova, a former Miss Moscow contestant, was a little-known snapper at a news agency when she got the shock call from the Kremlin.

Putin's advisers yesterday claimed the 25-year-old babe's looks were irrelevant.

Press secretary Dmitry Peskov said: "It's the professionalism that matters."

But pundits reckon Putin is trying to outdo President Dmitry Medvedev after he hired his own sexy snapper - Katya Shtukina from the Izvestia newspaper.

Agreed. The big question is why Medvedev needs a photographer? He is quite the accomplished photographer himself. Given that the first Lady is very involved in his daily administration, it will interesting to see how this plays out.

As both have access to superb professionals in their administrations, this could be another sign that each plans on needing additional help on the campaign trail.

I saw briefly parts of a carton strip depicting Putin with Medvedev as a sort of Bat Man and Robin deal.

It was half Wakfu a French strip also incorporating anime, Pokémon being another version better known in North America.

Interesting the Sun should call them "snappers" obviously in reference to "snapshots' or photos - snapper is a sort of USA street slang with a similar meaning as puta or putanna in Spanish or Italian - a rather vulgar reference to a woman who earns via her genitalia or "snapper" - would mean they have other discreet duties besides just snapping photos of the gentlemen mentioned
