If you mean scammers, there really aren't many on the mamba network. If you contact a woman, the odds of her being a scammer looking for a foreigner to swindle are pretty much close to nil. Alenika is right, it is up to you to be able to sort out the real and sincere women from the others. Either that or hire somebody to help you such as Ed or others.

Why would anyone "monitor" a dating site at all?  It's not an agency, no one is promising you anything, why would you think anyone should?  If you meet someone out in town, they don't come with a "guarantee," either.  I'm just not sure why you're all over a free site..

There aren't many scammers on Mamba network, but there are a lot of ads that are just spam advertising porn sites, webcam sites and other crap. Without knowing what to look for it's not easy to tell a real ad from spam and potentially it can be a huge waste of time with very little or no results. Additionally that Russian - English translation is very much a typical on line translator translated - meaning you can only get a very general idea at about 30%-40% understanding level. You may think that you understood almost everything, but chances are that in reality you actually misunderstood lots of it. I think I've demonstrated in another thread how things can be completely misinterpreted when using those things. Just like Americans, Russians also use lots of slang and that stuff translates horribly.

Several of my clients tried using / are using mamba on their own, but I haven't heard of any success yet. IMHO you really must have plenty of experience using the site and still a native Russian speaker will have a 90 + % better chance of success. Things really, really changed also. It used to take me one hour of searching and contacting to come up with a couple of really nice girls who responded and showed interest. That was just a year ago. Now it takes me 2 to 4 hours to produce the same results!!!    Anti American propaganda in Russia also makes things a lot more difficult for American men. Women keep hearing horror stories about the US and women who marry AM and sometimes it really takes some convincing to put them at ease. I usually let my wife talk to them when we are on a 3-way call with a client and his girl.  My wife will say hello to a girl, chat with her a little then she tells a girl the truth about life here, and they feel a lot better after that.

Surely it's also a numbers game and if you invest enough time in searching on your own, without help, contacting and getting to know lots of women, then travelling many times to meet these women eventually you might marry one of them. But unless you are fluent in Russian or are just extremely lucky this may take years and tens of thousands of $$$ wasted on useless trips until something actually works IMHO.

I think there are several people on RUA who are in relationships with ladies they met on the Mamba network.  I would include myself in that group and I speak very little Russian (in my case I just looked at ladies who listed English since I feel communication in a common language is important).  The only real cost of using the site was the $20 USD I paid to have advanced search capabilities (recommended as it provides a lot more options to build your filter on).  Like everything in life, you have no guarantees of success, but it's still possible.

IMHO you really must have plenty of experience using the site and still a native Russian speaker will have a 90 + % better chance of success.

I would not dispute this claim as the site is focused on Russian speakers and most do not care (or can) to speak to none Russian speakers.  So having a Russian speaker (like Ed) act as your wing man would help you in finding a FSUW who speaks only Russian, but then you have other considerations to think about.

But understanding people there is a real challenge...I found "the one" on mamba.ru but would'nt recommend to use it without help. Without help of my Ukrainian (woman) friend i would'nt have pursued. To find her  is easy, to understand her...not!
You can use too meetic.com in english  (meetic is the biggest dating website in europe now merged with match.com). There are more and more russian, polish, ukrainian, baltic, roumanian....women's ads.

Thanks for mentioning "meetic.com" as I know a friend of my friend who uses that site as she's a fluent French speaker (for that reason I was thinking that it was a French language site).

On meetic you can  also find ru ladies already living in western Europe by selecting nationalities and countries.
