Title: Divorce rate of RW after 5-10 years
Post by: martincop on September 22, 2018, 12:31:22 AM
I have to believe it is higher than the general population.  I know three couples and they are all divorced.

Thoughts?

What particular group are you looking at?

FSU ladies in general, FSU ladies married to foreigners or FSU ladies married to foreigners and living abroad?

Depends who you are, and what you got to offer, personality, looks, and money wise. I dated two russian women, both knew i wouldn't get married unless i had kids, they were game.

People always wonder what the odds are. Everybody is different so odds aren't the same for everybody. The only marriage that should count is your own.

I can't tell for other people, but I just crossed the 8-year mark, 2 to go and you can count this one up as "married" :)

I have been married for over 10 1/2 years to an FSU woman.   You can count this one up as "married" :)

This post is interesting. I was once married to a Vietnamese woman. I knew a number of men who also married a Vietnamese woman about the same time as I did. We were all young and the age gap was small if any. For a reason or reasons I have never quite figured out nearly all of us got a divorce at the twenty year mark. It seem to be a rash of different reason but the fact so many of us got a divorce at about the same time seem like something was happening time that we want not spend our aging years with the woman who raise our first family of children. I never had any children but the other dudes did. If you make it past the first few years I think you will find the truly big test comes at twenty years or shortly there after. Many of the men on this site are older than we were when we got married so it will be interested if that has any effect.

Not sure how easy official stats are to be had but you could get a rough hands up on this forum?

We've been married a little over 5 years now so you can add that to the list of members above. It would appear that there are more 'still married couples' than divorced, based on this thread?

You being ultimate Sherlock - you should have worked it out and you could have had the 'benefit of surprise'...

Wiz is far more adroit and loves telling me he knows where the photos are taken ( - cluebat - many have GPS turned on )

Did you leave Canada ?

I don't know about the rest of you but I will have been married 19 years next March. I also have two mistresses here in Yoshkar-Ola as the regional (Mari-El Respublika) ratio of women to men teeters around 6 to 1. I am in paradise!

May I remind you that long time ago, on my hobby "friendly" board, I posted a photo of the road you were temporary residing...... "not your actual house"..... and you went mental, in fear that I will disclose the full address of your house, because some people were after you, for a nice scam you were involved?

I really enjoyed that day and the laugh I had at your expense!

the divorce rate today is over 50% in most countries regardless
of who what and where they married.
I suspect length of marriage has little to do with anything IMO.
I am 5 years now and if it makes people feel better to say 8 or 10 or 20
great. Life changes, people change, divorce happens.
In todays world at every age group and scenario.
If your happy be happy simple.
don't worry about something that may or may not ever happen.

1/  I did not 'go mental' as it wasn't my  house - I lived 7 miles away.... you posted an image of a property in the same postcode  of a family member,  you soft sap :chuckle:

2/ My address was well known to any bank, credit agency, Police, Sky, etc.,  and my mobile number and email are the same .

Please tell us about any  'scam' ...

3/  I did point out that the information commissioner would be interested to know how you mis-used your graveyard forum - where you talk to yourself - to post such bollox and your post (and my response  )   disappeared, pronto

I really enjoyed that day and the laugh I had at your expense!

Then why did you pull such a 'joke' ?

Wiz, with your imagination, memory issues and plagiarism - you are not the brightest bulb ...

You know where I stayed - it was not hidden - and thus the question must be      WTF are you talking about ?

I hope that didn't offend you  :coffeeread:

Did you forget the thread name ? It isn't Wiz spouts bollox

The reasons for a marriage dissolution are very varied.  Abuse, adultery, irreconcilable differences, etc.  When you seek a divorce, you want a permanent end to the union.  There are others who "tough it out".  It all depends on the person's choice to divorce or not. For half of the people who married, they decided not to "tough it out".  I have seen both sides.
