Jet Lag... Whats Your Method to Adjust in the New Time Zone ?
Donhollio:
I've suffered from it on a few trip to Europe. A time shift of 8 hours is not an easy adjustment for me. Some fare worse the further they go east. The boys from down under have the same problem.
So I'm wondering what you do to get your bodies time clock in sync with the country your visiting. Are there proven remedies ? I think sharing this information will make for a valuable future reference.
So how do you beat ? :Zzzzsleep:
Boris:
Don, I just stay up. Just kind of force myself. I can never sleep on the plane so the first evening there I am pretty tired. For the the first couple of days I can only sleep a few hours at a time. After two or three days I'm cool.

From a few trips to Finland, Sweden and Russia I am now an expert at adjusting to the -7 or -8 time zones.
First...get the overNIGHT flight. I am not sure what god forsaken schedule you have to follow to fly from Winnipeg to whereever you are going Don, but try to get a flight schedule where you leave in the evening and arrive in the morning.
Then! You have to be able to sleep on the plane. If you can't...well then you'll have to resort to drugs or alcohol. Or seduce a stewardess so you can sleep after the mile high club. Personally I just make sure I have some beer before I leave and eat the meal and "Zzzzzzz". Sleep as LONG as you can.
When you wake up, have the plane breakfast, and land...that is it. NO sleeping. Pretend you had your regular evening and night and morning...just it's a few hours short. Your body will think you just had one of those Winnipeg Welfare Weekend Parties til 3am and didn't get much sleep is all. After 10pm or so...you can sleep. Enjoy..you are now on Helsinki time.
I find if I do that I feel great by the 2nd morning there. Second night is a little iffy, and I have trouble staying awake then, but by the 2nd morning I am fine.
