I am not as skilled as Mendeleyev in doing photo threats but if it is allowed by the forum rules, (which I doubt) I maybe summon his help to open some photo topics a couple of cities in MX

Torreón (the place in which lives this Russian woman) is a basically a  "huge ranch" with an airport so there's nothing there, only dust, horses and snakes (no kidding), add that this RW is driving by the curiosity of taking photos of the most exotic and less pretty places over there. I suppose your idea of "nice" are developed cities European - US style, anyway is useless to try to convince someone who has made up her mind but take a look:

I missed a lot in those links like for example in Monterrey (MTY), I did not put photos of downtown and uptown Monterrey, the Metro (Subway) lines,  Paseo Santa Lucia (Riverwalk) and the Parque Fundidora and much of Greater Monterrey area or the 3 terminals of Monterrey airport to mention a few places. The same applies to Mexico City (DF) and Guadalajara (GDL), I will update the treat later, other cities like Puebla, Los Cabos, Taxco, Zacatecas, Cancún, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco will also have very interesting things to explore and see.

In my personal opinion Colonial and Prehispanic cities are more worthy to visit rather than large Urban areas. In Colonian and Prehispanic areas you will get a real feeling of what the country is in reality, unlike in large full developed cities which are no different than a western European or American one.

wether it's Mexican or American, I make really tasy burritos. Also I discovered that if you frya rolled burrito in extra virgin olive oil till the bread gets nice and brown then melt some cheese on top of it, it becomes a 100 times more delicious. I guess that's more like an enchilada? Well anyway, my MIL is very particular about food since she is a great cook herself, but she love it when I made those!

Yes Eduard, is more like an "Enchilada gratinada" but without sauce, based in your description it must be very tasty.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burrito

Tacos de Harina (Tacos de Harina are made from tortillas of Harina - Flour)  more likely to be an authentic Mexican burritos, (traditional Mexican Tacos are made of Maiz - Corn) however American created burritos, the ones which are popular (but still with Mexican ingredients, they are still classified as Mexican based on rules of origin, kinda like if it were some kind of Free Trade Agreement regarding traditional food and dishes) are basically Tacos de Harina on steroids.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enchilada

Tacos, Burritos, Enchildas, Quesadillas, Flautas, among many other Mexican dishes they all use different types of "Tortillas" for their preparation:

Sounds like a chimichanga.  I haven't seen them in Mexico yet, but a green chile chimichanga was one of my favorite dishes when I lived in Arizona.

Burritos look like a shaurma here.

What I saw in one culinary program about Mexican food it is much different from ours but when I was in a Mexican small restaurant I liked a chilly chicken ...I don't remember a name of this dish but it was something very chilly and it was a chicken. No one Mexican was there. :-X

I saw Americans,Englishes,Germans....Asians,Japans,Frenches..who else? But never saw anyone Mexican.I'd like to see a real Mexican once in my life and then I can die in peace.

Mirror, you should go to Mexico! Satisfaction guaranteed! :party0031:

When in Mexico I usually go to some of the places the locals go to instead of the tourist traps, the food is usually better and costs a lot less. Most of the time me & whoever I'm with are the only ones not mexican in those joints.

Think I'm gonna make myself a taco dinner today...

What I heard about Mexico sounded like it is a poor country and it is even dangerous because of Mexican local gangsters "pif-paf".

My lady friend visited Mexico and presented me a cheap silver earrings with words that there are only cheap silver goods down there like this earrings....but these earrings were funny and priceless for me anyway because it looked a bit different from ours.

I can that Mexico is very far and maybe it is why it is very interesting.

I heard the same about Russia that it was a very dangerous and poor country (Russian mafia controlling everything), based on what I saw in the media and news here I would have never actually went to Russia, some people actually warned me to not go there but I did not listed to them and I went. In my opinion is better to go and check things by yourself otherwise you could be missing a lot of goods things, Silver is not expensive here because Mexico is the world largest producer of Silver. In fact there is a proposal in the Congress about retaking Silver coins as regular money in order to strengthen the Peso against future economic crisis.
