I would have thought your life experience would have taught you that the breakup of the USSR left many 'Russians' in new states and they didn't stop feeling Russian.

SC was born of a Uzbheki dad and a Russian Mum in what is now Tajikistan.

Not many nations exclude claims for citizenship based one parent being a citizen of that nation.

Sure, Ukraine expressly forbids dual nationality...but we are talking Russia and UK...yes?

My wife is Russian...her family moved to Kazakhstan from Siberia before she was born and spent a good part of her life under the USSR flag.

In depends, really. An intelligent and "down-to-earth" woman will understand and accept that, after investing money in travel, you would like to meet a few women. However there are also women living in fantasy world, believing that a man shall come to meet them EXCLUSIVELY (and not even having a "plan B").

Whether  their intelligence was that good ( Red Banner Diplome's a plenty ) -  'debatable' - if they chose to meet / enter into a LTR with me...


BUT..


I believe you'll find this is very much down to the lady / chap's' preferences

V had SO many VM 'romeos' - her words -  offer to fly her from Moscow from Siberia to meet - 'sparing her' 3/4 days out of 2 weeks ...

No, it's absolutely not 'true'.. it's your opinion / experience - based on your preferences ....

In this day and age, we can video chat and understand much about a potential mate - other than how they smell and whether you go 'boom' together ....    we were not 'commiting' ...just waiting to see if one's expectations live up to reality ?

I 'get' the expense thing, but *I* could not meet 3 plus ladies a day - remember what was important about them and make a rational decision on who to meet ... and then how to organise 2nd meetings ...   

To each their own - as you say, it depends ..

Jealous possessive women usually want a commitment from a man even before the first date. I always tell ladies I'm visiting them as a friend first but they also know from prior communications that I'm looking for someone marriage.

I would say the standards with Ukrainian women are pretty much the same, although Ukrainian women are less conservative, their culture is not so patriarchal. But it depends on the region. When I'm saying they are less conservative, I mean women living in the cities.
