LIX Super Bowl Teams Favored to Win

I put the teams up in order of their odds favored to win, as of December 31st, 2024, according to Fanduel.

Initially I was only going to put the top 8, however Bodine is an LA Rams fan, so I put up the top 9 so he could vote his favorite team.

Detroit is my top favorite team to win, I would like to see a new champion. Next for me are the Buffalo Bills, followed by the Minnesota Vikings. When I was a kid in elementary school I had a Vikings jacket. 

This coming Sunday the Vikings will play the Lions. Whoever wins will be the champion of that Division, and apparently the loser will be a wildcard. A wildcard with 14 wins!

Yeah, a token $100 bucks for the pesky Chiefs as a break-even insurance bet. A hundred on each team and half the teams have you covered. The payout washes with Philly but after that it’s fireworks everywhere!!

I will be hoping that the Houston Texans can knock off the Kansas City Chiefs.

As of 1/14/2025 8:16pm at DraftKings KC Chiefs are favored to win by 8.5 points against the Houston Texans. 
The LA Rams will be playing Philadelphia. Philadelphia is favored to win by 6 points against the Rams.
Detroit will be playing WA Commanders and are favored by 9.5 points. 
Baltimore Ravens are favored to win by 1.5 points over the Buffalo Bills.

Super Bowl 59 will be played on Sunday February 9th, 2025.

Detroit Lions to cover the spread

Possible bets for Sunday:

Philadelphia Eagles to cover the spread
Buffalo Bills to cover the spread

The weakest bet is probably the Texans to cover the spread.

I like the Lions over the Commanders, certainly on the money line.  Detroit is better at every position, but QB, and they are still good at QB.

Upset: The Bills choke against the Ravens.  But we'll see.  I'd like to see Buffalo go all the way.  Their fans have suffered enough (same for Lions).

We both wanted Houston to beat KC tonight but Stroud just got sacked hard, there was a field goal attempt which was blocked and now KC has the ball with little time left. Essentially it was wishful thinking on my part that Houston could maybe win this game.

Surprisingly Detroit Lions got clobbered by the Washington Commanders. Apparently their defense did not show up, likely due to injuries.

LA Rams were beaten by the Philadelphia Eagles today and I think the Eagles covered the spread.

As mentioned above Houston could not get it done against KC. If they could have made a field goal at the end they would have covered the spread but it was blocked.

The one bright spot is the Buffalo Bills beat the Baltimore Ravens, in fact they got some help from Anderson Andrews who dropped a 2 point attempt at the end.

Buffalo also covered the spread, so good for them.

For trivial technicalities (if there is such a thing), the blue 'Bill' the team used as their iconic mascot (Billy Buffalo) is actually a misnomer. Buffalo is indeed named after the city, yet Buffalo Bill (a man named Cody) was a bison hunter of yore.

Adding to the confusion, there's no buffalo in No. America. What we have here are 'Bisons'.

But yes, it's the Eagles vs the Chiefs.
