Happy New Year 2025!
« on: December 29, 2024, 05:40:19 PM »
Happy New years eve everyone , but be careful with fireworks.

My facial book came up with this event from Netherlands 5 years ago (2019).

Its in dutch, but no comments necessary to see the awesome scale of this event.

You know sh.t is getting real when the firefighters are calling in all hands because of 'fire nado' (fire tornado)

Happy New Year, Mark.

Same to everyone here.

One of my New Year's resolutions is to post less here. I have a feeling I might break it.

Okay but seriously, let's hope that President Trump keeps his goal of ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. And let's hope he does not allow the USA to get suckered into a war in the Middle East. We are better than that! Peace is so much better than war.

Here's believing it will be a very good year! May all your dreams and aspirations come true.

This is a very good way to start the New Year for these guys, so I will place this here. Let's hope there is a permanent ceasefire soon, and more exchanges.

2024 has been a shitty year for me. Here's hoping 2025 brings better days for us all. Some peace would be nice too, although I'm not holding my breath.

Gearing up for midnight here on the East coast of America with a 10-gauge Winchester cannon in brass, chocolate cherries and my favorite sparkling pear-apple juice from France.

Happy New Year to you too, Lord of the Dance!

Markje had started a thread however you must have missed it. No worries. 2025 will be great, with the new CIC and all.

That's a mighty fine looking cannon! Hope you have fun blasting it! The cherries and sparking pear-apple juice look delicious. Enjoy!

Happy New Year Contrarian.

Oops, must've missed Mark's NY thread. I did a quick scan but looked to me like the most recent topic was the passing of president Jimmy Carter. Death is always sad, but frankly 100 is a nice round number to clear before checking out.

Yeah, I always try to have a little treat ready for midnight. Cold and wet here this evening, so I was only outside for a handful of minutes. Best wishes for the new year! ~ Doug

Ah yes, here it is.

Happy New Year gents (and ladies, if any are currently in our midst).

Good point Mark, 15 minutes of fun ain't worth a lifetime of disability. I know I'm due to lose some digits one of these days. I just hope I have a girlfriend before it happens.

No but I'm actually pretty careful.  tiphat

Good song AvHdB, thanks for sharing.

Paul Craig Roberts is someone I like reading upon occasion, and the New Year is a good occasion to see what he thinks. This is a great article. Here is a bit of it.

quote

"The problem with democracy is that the majority of the population is incapable of comprehending reality. They are insouciant.  The Founding Fathers understood this.  They limited democracy to male property owners whose economic interest tended to keep them focused on reality.

But over time American males proved to be weak.  They acquiesced time and again to progressive reforms that destroyed all prospects of democracy as a viable governing system.

American democracy is so pitiful that it is incapable of defending its own borders.  Over the last decade or so 30 million immigrant-invaders have walked across the US border assisted by the US government, many of whom have become part of the American support system’s burden. Taxpayer money that once went for American purposes now goes tor the support of immigrant-invaders.

As 2025 makes its debut, what future will it bring us?

My answers are not predictions, because there is so much of which even the best informed of us are unaware."

I have been waiting for you to fire the cannon to welcome 2025.
May be you will do it next year…..

And yes… who is going to believe in non-alcoholic juice from France with the loaded wine fridge in the background.  :)
