Moldova on its way to joining the EU

More bad news for Putin. When Putin started his special military operation Moldova's constitution forbade it from joining the EU.

Now by a razor thin majority a referendum approved Moldova joining the EU and a constitutional court has upheld the referendum.

Putin's war has prompted Sweden and Finland to join NATO and now Moldova is joining the EU. Will Moldova eventually join NATO?

Getting Moldova to join the EU has been a decades long goal. When I spent a while there in 2001, the biggest money in the country was from the EU and USA. Those funds paid for my study place in Chisinau. Ostensibly, the money was to aid development of the country, and I am sure it was useful and welcome. The overarching goal was to influence opinion toward the EU.
