Biden recently signed a new policy which significantly increases the tarrifs on Chinese electric vehicles.  He calls this protectionism for American manufacturers.  The truth is that for the price point, the Chinese have effectively manufactured the best electric vehicle at the best price.  While these tarrifs will help short term the american manufacturers, it will do them harm long term because they will never be competitive on the world stage.

In the 1990's, earlier in Biden's long political career he signed VAWA into effect.  This is the violence against women act.  This act allows for foreign women who have been "abused" by their American husbands and sponsors, to a fast track to residency and possibly citizenship.  This of course is full of false claims of domestic abuse.

Is VAWA another tarrif but on women?  If there is an increased barrier to entry (a tax or tarriff on the chinese vehicles and a law of increased risk on the russian women) then would this make american women more or less competitive in the long run?  Or will Americans be forced into consuming lower quality domestic goods, including women?  I think if collectively in the US we're importing less foreign women, then the local american women will not have the same incentive to work out, dress better, lose weight and become better proespects.

Seems like for the time being we wont see many Chinese electric vehicles nor hot Russian women on the streets of America.

any thoughts?

Protectionism rarely has a positive outcome. I think it's a bit of a reach to suggest that VAWA led to lower equity women in the USA or that it was. form of trade protectionism. The fact that some guys cannot find women in the USA that can meet their exacting standards is more about the men than the women.

But for the cars, well, yes. Without an incentive to offer competitive goods then US automakers will act rationally and create low quality goods with profit margins their shareholders will enjoy. A problem is that even with tarrifs Chinese vehicles may still be attractive to US buyers on which case US auto makers will be doubly screwed.

I think we can all agree that Russian women are thinner, more femenine, dress better and are more cultured than their american counterparts.

There's always whores and gold diggers. But that's neither normal or typical of most people who don't have a penis.

In addition, I remain convinced that one is more likely to come across people who don't have a penis who are, shall we say, financially motivated when exploring the world of mate importing than when searching for a genuine life partner amongst one's peer or near-peer groups.

And no Omega we cannot and do not. But even if that were the case, what do you offer to these fantasy women to entice them to spend their lives with you?

It's easier for them to get a visa, via the UforU program, but they still need a sponsor.  If they have sponsor to fill out the paperwork, then it's not difficult.  Does not have to be fiance/boyfriend. Can be a church or whatever, AFAIK.
