Yevgeny Prigozhin on Friday evening accused the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation of a missile strike on the camps of PMC "Wagner" and announced his intention to "stop the evil carried by the country's military leadership". Immediately after that, Prigozhin began to publish voice messages actually declaring war on the Russian military leadership headed by Sergei Shoigu, whom he called "this creature." Prigozhin said that 25,000 fighters of PMC "Wagner" are performing at the "march of justice against lawlessness in the country." The Grey Zone telegram channel close to PMC Wagner published a video with Prigozhin at the headquarters of the Southern Military District. He is negotiating with Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.

There are no weapons under Yevkurov, Prigozhin in a bulletproof vest and with a machine gun. "We came here, we want to get the Chief of the General Staff and Shoigu. While they are gone, we are here, blocking the city of Rostov and going to Moscow. The guys will be here," Prigozhin says in the video.

To the right of Prigozhin is the first deputy head of the GRU, Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev. On Friday evening, he recorded an appeal to the Wagnerites, in which he accused them of a coup d'état and urged them to "rethink". In the video with Prigozhin and Evkurov, Alekseev says: "I am upset that three days in Kiev there will be a holiday with champagne." Prigozhin answers: "It's okay, there's a champagne holiday in Kiev when you throw Red Lymans, Raisins and everything else. Then the holiday is a week in Kiev. And we're not running out of nowhere."

In the next video, Prigozhin announced that under his control military facilities of Rostov, including the airfield, "so that assault aircraft strike not at us, but on Ukrainians." According to him, official data on Russian losses are underestimated four times.
There are a lot of military equipment and people in military uniform in the center of Rostov-no-Don, it is not possible to reliably establish their belonging. All administrative buildings in the city are cordoned off by the military. The authorities recommended that civilians avoid traveling to the center and stay in their homes if possible.

Security measures have also been strengthened in Moscow and the Moscow region. The police are on high alert, military equipment was seen on the streets at night, the entrance to Red Square was closed.

State media transmit only official statements of the authorities. A special news release was held on Channel One for this purpose, which was conducted by Ekaterina Andreeva.

I suspect that Prigozhyn signed his own execution warrant, but it might take a week for this to occur. Putin certainly does not want or need this loose cannon in jail.

Prigozhin has come out and said the war in Ukraine is nothing more than Putin's handlers wanting to profit from the war. Now maybe Russians will decide to go home and leave Ukraine alone. Russia's war in Ukraine is the biggest military blunder of modern time. From here it is only going to get worse. So, let's hope this is the beginning of the end of the war.

The largest effect might be with RU soldiers in the trenches and officers.  Many may feel Prigozhyn's assessments are more truthful than not, for the rest enough to sow serious doubt.

We'll have to see how much support he can gain among the regulars.

Tex either you are naive or very ignorant of the Slavic mentality. I would say look at both what Prigozhin has said and done in the past. Perhaps if possible your view point will change.

You are correct though the already low morale of the Russian foot soldier will erode. Will the defense lines collapse perhaps, but I doubt it.

Prigozhin has been talking about this for some time now. He in the past claimed that Russia was at a point much like 1917 when the Zar was overthrown and has been warning Russian leadership needs to be more responsible to the Russia solder. This lack of responsibly he has claimed has caused very many Russian solder to die. He has been working over months to appeal to the Russian front-line solder to support him thru is telegram channel. I do not think anybody can predict how much support he will get or where this will end up.

A lot depends on how quickly this can be brought to an end. If it ends in a few days most likely not much will happen if it is months this could become a big distraction from the war.

MOSCOW, June 24 - RIA Novosti. Moscow declared Monday a non-working day, according to the statement of the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in the Telegram channel.
Sobyanin urged Muscovites to refrain from traveling around the city as much as possible. He also warned about possible traffic overlaps in certain neighborhoods and on the roads.

"Timely report 112 emergency situations and incidents," he added.

A counter-terrorism operation regime has been introduced in Moscow, in this regard, previously announced mass events have been canceled in the city. The mayor of the city urged citizens to remain calm and trust only official sources of information.

Maybe Prigozhin is naive or very ignorant of the Slavic mentality as he says,

Unfortunately, in Russia, it does not matter.
Government power is overwhelming.
Russian people are cut from the rest of the would at this time.
That was the biggest mistake for the West.

It’s a very good news!
They were negotiating more than 24 hours.
Finally, Poo learned in a hard way that negotiations are better than war….

Starting yesterday I began to hear news of Wagner's attempt to topple the Russian military. The White House is monitoring the situation. The hair on the back of my neck is standing up. This could get crazy. Or it might be nothing.
