The man who the young Russian soldier has confessed to killing was actually a retired KGB agent who guarded Brezhnev back in the day. Way to go Putin!

In my opinion, they need to ship the Russian soldier and their evidence to the
World Court at the Hague so that it will be independent and won't be seen as
a show trial. Otherwise you WILL have Ukrainian soldiers executed after
similar trials in Russia.

You could do that, the only country that has opted out of the ICC is the USA.

The USA wouldn't be doing that, Ukraine would be. United States, Russia,
China and Israel don't participate in the ICC.

You are right, russia initially signed for the ICC until world relations deteriorated and they left the ICC treaty in 2016 accusing it of bias going only after african nations.

As for the usa
For Stephen Rapp, it is a concern that if his nation ever decided to join the ICC, the global community would target them because of their aggressive foreign policy and the court could prosecute American soldiers and other individuals involved in bellicose actions overseas. The actions in Afghanistan during the George W. Bush presidency were in the eye of the ICC’s members as some of them accused the Americans of committing war crimes during that time.

Team Obama dwarfed GWB, with his endless drone assassinations, however the
oddball Europeans decided to give him the Nobel Peace prize at the start of his
presidency.

Euro's need to show they can police/govern/defend themselves before reaching
across the Atlantic to offer their expertise.

Putin is surely accomplishing that fact.

Netherlands on average spent 0.2% of their budget on the Military, which is far below 2% which NATO demands.

This year, we upped it to 3%.
