Babbel offers free language lessons to Ukrainians
« on: May 13, 2022, 11:14:22 AM »
Dear Babbel Community,

I’m writing to you as we continue to witness the devastating situation in Ukraine. At Babbel, we know how important language learning is for all people, but it’s especially critical for displaced communities. It gives people access to essential information and services, reduces communication challenges and helps to create emotional connections with others.

We’ve come together as a company and as global citizens to find ways to harness the power of language, through Babbel.

Today we’re excited to share that we’ve created a free Ukrainian language edition, allowing Ukrainian speakers to learn English, German and Polish from their native language with Babbel. This edition is being provided without charge to all Ukrainian speakers, both refugees and those at home. Our team worked at breakneck speed to create these courses and we hope they will benefit hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, both now and into the future.

We’ve also provided thousands of free access codes for all of Babbel’s languages across communities in Poland, Germany and Ukraine. We’ve used our app to rally volunteers at welcome centers for volunteers, and made our office in Berlin available for use as an operations center for organizations supporting Ukrainian refugees.

Babbel will continue to stand by Ukraine. You can find more information on these initiatives here. And you can access Ukrainian-based language lessons here.

Yours sincerely,
Julie Hansen (US CEO Babbel)
