Russians are now fighting for Ukraine.
« on: May 02, 2022, 06:42:13 AM »
Russian troops yesterday started fighting for Ukraine.

This is their statement in English.

"After almost two months of training, units of the Freedom Of Russia Legion moved into the areas of combat operations in Eastern Ukraine today.

We thank the command of the Armed Forces Of Ukraine for the trust placed in us and promise to justify it in battle.

We also express our sincere gratitude to our compatriots both from Russia and from abroad for material assistance to fight the Putin regime."

Look what the American media makes some people believe:
Putin often threatens to strike US with nuclear weapons.

To be fair, that does not automatically render it untrue. :)

To have even a handful of 'Russian' fighters will be seen as a propaganda coup, just as it was during WWII when a load of Ukrainians took up arms with the Nazi invaders.

One point to note, two months of training suggests they are far from fully trained, so they will be either cannon fodder or kept out of harm's way to be rolled out for publicity shots if the Ukrainians ever have a success of some kind.

Similarly, Russia claims huge numbers of Ukrainians have crossed into Donetsk and joined the other side.

In addition, one might argue that ALL the fighters for the LPR and DPR are Ukrainians who changed sides. :)

I think that is where the Ukrainian turncoats are used, I think, Not the Russian army.

All this really proves is, and a concerning one need not be reminded, the core kinship runs deep. Two nations bound by a shared culture, unfortunately pushed and coerced into a blood bath by outside forces beyond of its control.

Please define ‘a success of some kind’?

Perhaps you are forgetting the defense of Kiev, the sinking of the Moskva or the number of Senior Russian military commanders killed while in Ukraine.
