HI I am wanting to help out an animal shelters in Kharkov where they rescue animals from the war .
I checked online but didnt know which place is large or small and who is still operating.

There are two animal rescue groups I know of helping in Ukraine which you will find out about by watching the videos.

In animal.news-
I believe the tigers and big cats  at the Kharkov zoo where put down last week due to damaged enclosures ,lack.of adequate safety and  staffing etc.

Thats too bad, I heard many Dutch zoo's already inquired if they needed to provide shelter but their calls went unanswered.

If only they had bothered to answer the phone...

Yes, it would have been better if the Ukrainian zoo had answered the calls from the Netherlands.

Not being there,  I'd first assume the handlers care deeply for them.
I doubt it was an easy decision.
On them being transported elsewhere I know they were asking for such for awhile, I know some other animals were relocated.

So yes it seems a tragedy if an avenue of saving them was somehow missed or impossible in the time frame.
I would highly  doubt it was intentional in any case.
