Indeed an interesting set of questions and poll. Certainly enough scenarios.

tiphat

Perhaps you could add two options, Yellowstone will explode and the US Dollar will be used as wall or toilet paper. Both happening in the next 5 years.

I suspect the results will depend on hopes and perspectives of those who reply and vote.

You are welcome to vote on one other option. Give me a minute to modify it first though. ))

Folks, please remember, you may vote on two options. I have tried to give a good variety and make this interesting. I appreciate the good sense of humor and actually potentially legitimate suggestions made by AvHdB. The dollar may indeed be worth about as much as toilet paper, if Joe Biden remains in office too much longer.

You left one out, the most likely outcome:

Successful Ukraine operation, Donbass liberated, Ukraine declares neutrality and eschews NATO, Russia increases use of Rouble, Dollar collapses, successful east-west decoupling, sanctions on Russia ineffective, Putin's popularity rating rises from the current 71% to 85%.

Then there's the maybes:

The western tip of Ukraine (Rivne, Ternopil, etc) becomes Poland as the US was desperate to invade something, Azov members stand trial in Russia, Zelensky moves to his waiting mansion in FL and becomes CNN anchor, Viktor Medvedchuk is voted president of Ukraine, Russian is reinstated as a language in Ukrainian schools and Putin gets Nobel Peace Prize (as Obama did after a "special military operation"), Joe has ice cream and wins another term. Actually, scrub that last bit, Joe has ice cream and trump wins in 24.

Look what the American media makes some people believe:
Putin often threatens to strike US with nuclear weapons.

Across a number of media sources there is talk of peace/truce between Russia and Ukraine. These discussions seem to taking place in Turkey. I hope this is possible.

On the other hand W. Zelensky was seen four days ago at Graceland.

I only needed to start to read it to see it's a load of BS.

"China is arming Russia "

This revelation comes from a USA official who surprise, surprise is anonymous

The reality is that China cancelled a $500 Million investment in Russian Gas less than two weeks ago because they were afraid of sanctions...whoops there goes the credibility on that "interesting" article.

I have a Bridge to sell if anyone's interested.

Dutchgov has sources that they can not reveal because of national or strategic security. They know a whole lot more than the average public, so if opposition to dutch-gov thinks this is worth while you can call it 'bullshit' at your own risk.

They did however list a credible source (if you think MSM is credible) : https://www.reuters.com/world/us-told-nato-asia-allies-that-china-willing-supply-arms-russia-us-official-2022-03-14/

Chelseaguy, without commenting on the veracity of the story about arms sales, surely even you can understand that there is a difference between a business making a choice based upon its assessment of business risk and a government making a strategic choice for national security reasons?

I wouldnt place to much weight on Dutch Gov reports just yet. Its kind of an outlier at this stage that needs more evidence.

Well the USA has warned China there will be "consequences" if China gives military aid to Russia.

One would assume those consequences would be sanctions because that's the USA's MO.

Do you believe China will therefore take the hit on sanctions to arm Russia when they wouldn't take that risk to invest in Russian Gas ?

Of course you're another one who said Russia wouldn't invade Ukraine i've been informed on here..so everything you say has to be taken with "i don't really know what i'm talking about " warning ..but i'm happy to see your opinion regardless .

Russia has been supplying oil and gas to China since 2013. They also just extended the contracts another 10 years in February.

You also haven't a clue (about many things Russian for sure) about how sanctions can be avoided, or worked around, all the while presented as "tough" to dupes like you.

Before you call out others for not knowing what they're talking about, maybe you should take a long look in the mirror, as heinous as that is.

Oh dear another clueless poster.

The cancelled investment was for a new gas chemical plant in Russia by Chinese state-owned Sinopec.

Who's the dupe now ?

I guess the Russian state -owned media kept that quiet from you  (:)
