I think that your president is a sock puppet - much like Zelensky. I do think there is a serious level of incompetence and a huge lack of professional ability among the anointed leaders in the country that I too once saw as a shining beacon on the hill.

That said, I think that the 'real' leadership is undergoing a civil war. Invisible to almost all except those involved and at the top of the U.S. power vertical. So, we are seeing contradictory messaging, contradictory actions and clear efforts to force the president, who is still the nominal leader, to take actions that suit one or more of the competing power blocs.

That did not start with Biden, it has been going on for years. It came into focus during Trump's term, but it was not his presidency where this infighting began, although he was more susceptible to it, given his lack of political clout at the highest levels.

It's an act of war, plain and simple. Taking out the head of state is an
act of war. Unless congress declares war it would be an impeachable act.
Russia has a serious security apparatus and counter intelligence capabilities,
they aren't dumb, they would know who did it.

Imagine that they tried to kill Putin and it failed, which is the most likely
scenario.

If Putin was gone, imagine who takes his place. Dmitry Medvedev? Probably 
somebody far more radical than Putin. Russia has some hardliners skulking
about dreaming of the happy Soviet Unions days.

In the video from 1997, you will see Biden admit they are provoking Russia to start war by moving NATO closer to Russia's borders after we promised not to in exchange for the reunification of Germany. Biden may not be as sharp now as he was then, but he wants this war and he wants to prolong it. He feeds Ukraine weapons and supplies and at the same time, he enriches Russia's war chest by skyrocketing the price of oil.
