I am informed all 5g etc cell nets unlink to starlink sats for FREE courtesy of Elon - why smartphones still work across Ukraine... Turns out smart phones are useful in support of logistics...

5g continues to work there, because its infra has not been bombed or taken over by the military. Starlink has little to do with it as it cannot possible provide enough fast bandwidth to create phonecalls.

Starlink is fun for browsing websites, its also fine for sms and other stuff, but voicecalls is much too fast for Starlink and will not work.
