This is an interesting assumption. I enjoyed my various visits to St. Petersburg and Moscow, they are amazing metropolis’s.

Looking at different metrics from different organizations Moscow is not among any list of top ten. What did surprise me is how many different organization ranked various cities in Oceania in the top ten.

Putin musta paid off the UN...  Moscow is large but compared to other big cities in the world lacking in many things.  London, Paris, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco..I've been to all and overall they beat Moscow.

London has so much more variety and options for entertainment there is no comparison.

London is only of any use in the centre other than that much has changed in London over the last few years.. it is now the most dangerous city in Europe.. walk around any where after midnight and you got a good chance of being clobbered.. enter or leave any train station after midnight you have a good chance of getting a good kicking or robbed.. the city is absolutely terrible..

Keep in mind I have been to some of these cities you've listed and lived 35 years in LA. !5 years in Newport Beach down by the peninsula. LA is a great place for sure, and a ton of things to do, but I know Russians who visited there and told me they were bored out of their minds. Sometimes, you just need to know where to go.

And what prey tell, can I do in London that I can't do in Moscow?

Barcelona? Sure, it has a beach and nice weather, but as far as activities/things to do, come on. New York is overrated IMO, and San Fransisco, have you been to Fisherman's Wharf lately? A f'n shithole.

And nothing like paying $1600 to rent 130 sq ft of living space with 5-6 other people or over $2k for a 500 sq ft. apartment is shady part of town.. Yeah, doesn't get much better than that.

The more I read from you about Moscow, the more I think you didn't spend much time here and haven't been here in years. I don't agree with that statement at all.

Because of the coronavirus I haven't been out of Russia for over 2 years. In the past that would have been a problem, as far as getting certain goods for example, but it's just not the case now and I lack for nothing here at all.

Now, is Moscow the best city in the world? Ah, no. But it is hugely underrated for sure and I would put it on par with any city you listed above.

Danchik, I lived close to 1/2 year in Moscow 4 years ago.  And I've been to Russia and lived in other cities for a few months each year since for work until Covid hit. 

I've got many Russian friends and they have showed me alot of the city.  Gorky Park is nice but you can't tell me it's better than Central Park or Hyde Park.

Like I said I have lived in London for extended periods of time too.  Selfridges, Harrods, Fortnum and Mason all beat GUM and TSUM by a country mile.  Walk on Oxford street, there is so much more variety in shops than on Arbat or Tverskaya.  There's Saville Row for clothes.  Nothing really like that in Moscow.

Ethnic cuisines are alot more varied.  There is a real Chinatown in London.  Kitay Gorod, haha first time I went there I was thinking where are the Asian shops? it's only in name.

Now of course standard of living is much cheaper in Moscow and you can get basically whatever you want. I'm just saying I prefer London as a whole.

The Moscow metro is better than the tube I'll give you that.

The only thing I like more in Russia are the people in general and women in particular!!  The Brits I found tougher to make friends with but there is a huge expat community in London. 

You probably haven't been to Hong Kong, Shanghai or Seoul, now those are some cool cities.  There's no view in Moscow like the top of Victoria Peak in HK. probably one of the most stunning views you'll ever see in the world.

I go to LA pretty regularly as I have relatives there.  Newport beach ain't bad. Good volleyball action in summer lol.  I stay by Santa Monica and UCLA, enough stuff to do there.
Russians bored out of their mind in LA? Either they don't like the beaches or sunny weather or something's wrong with them lol.  Take a walk on the Venice boardwalk, how can anyone be bored with all the characters there.
