The vessel M/V Luna was commissioned and delivered to R. Abramovich. A while back it was in New York when Mrs. Abramovich had a baby.

In fact I have seen the vessel twice. For a number of years it has been embroiled in the legal battles, stuck in Dubai. I guess it proves divorce in America and Russia when serious dollars are involved is messy. I always followed the R. Williams method.

In fact, this was a case of divorce tourism. Akhmedov divorced in Russia where matters are fairly simple. His ex-wife took the case to the UK where matters are much less simple and where many people come if they want to get a divorce settlement that is shall we say 'generous'. For some reason, she persuaded a judge that the divorce in Russia was not genuine and the case was reworked in the UK where she took advantage of the legislation that favours women in her position.

Last I know of the boat, in Dubai, it was awarded back to Akhmedov in 2019.

The young lady in question does not sound like a sweety. The divorce seems to be contentious invoking Sharia law as well as a supposed Russian divorce degree that seems dubious.

As I learned from my father, alimony is the screwing you get for the screwing you had.

My guess the M/V Lena is not going anywhere soon.
