EU removes diplomatic immunity from Greek member of European Parliament

In an unusual action the European Union has stripped the immunity of a Greek member convicted of a number of crimes. G. Lagos seems to be or was the leader of a group called the 'Golden Dawn' that seems to be violently neo-Nazi. The vote to remove his immunity was 658 to 24 to remove which is mega negative vote.

In another Golden Dawn matter it appears another member, I. Kasidiaris was also removed from the Athens Greek Parliament for inciting a fracas.

Will be interesting to read others opinion.

Following an investigation into the 2013 murder of anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas by a self-identified member, Michaloliakos and several other Golden Dawn MPs and members were arrested and held in pre-trial detention on suspicion of forming a criminal organization

On 7 October 2020, Athens Appeals Court announced verdicts for 68 defendants, including the party's political leadership. Nikolaos Michaloliakos and six other prominent members and former MPs, were charged with running a criminal organization. Guilty verdicts on charges of murder, attempted murder, and violent attacks on immigrants and left-wing political opponents were delivered.

GOLDEN DAWN WAS A FASHIST ORGANISATION AND THE COURT DECIDED. They did not have a real solid follow because of their actions.

In the last elections, 2 years ago, Golden Dawn achieved 1.6 %    and to be elected is 3% minimum.

During the court case a lot of illegal actions came out in the open..........and that is how the lost support from the 7% they had previously!
