I tested positive for covid-19
« on: October 17, 2020, 03:50:15 PM »
So like Trump I am immune to it.

I hear 2-3 months to up to 7 months you have a level of immunity. Perhaps this is the time for me to take the trip to Russia.

You have it now or you’ve had it and didn’t know?

Had it two weeks ago. I'm clear now. Was asymptomatic - no fever, no cough, nothing. Thank goodness.

Good to hear that you beat it. Did the doctors tell you that you will be immune to it due to increased levels of antibodies in your system? I've read a report a few dozen people in the world got reinfected soon after beating COVID but that's not a large enough sample to say that it is the norm.
Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776. If you want to stop the war in Ukraine, fix elections, stop medical tyranny and forced vaccinations, lower inflation and make America and the world a better place, get Trump back into power. The Democrats and Republicans have shown they can't do the job. They are good at robbing us and getting people killed in non stop wars.

So there are no reasons to prevent you from going to the fSU?

Maybe it was a false positive.

The tests are known to be inaccurate.

Half of people have no symptoms.

Most tests are pretty accurate if applied correctly. False positives are not an issue. Inaccuracies tend toward false negatives.

The tests are NOT known to be significantly inaccurate except among those whose lack of knowledge is compounded by an unwillingness to learn.

Seems earlier in the year there were a lot of unreliable tests coming out of China. There were reports of different countries in the EU questioning the results.

Good luck getting into Russia. You might want to wait a few more months.

Seems earlier in the year there were a lot of unreliable tests coming out of China. There were reports of different countries in the EU questioning the results.

If you look back you will probably find that what was happening was authorities in the EU were using the wrong kind of tests - that's not to say there were not some scams - there were. People were being tested for current infections with tests designed for checking for infections in the past. This meant the tests were functionally useless and any infections picked up would have been pretty much by accident.

Now, false positives are NOT an issue. False negatives are possible but that is, from the perspective of those applying and administering tests, not a significant issue.

Here's the evidence that false positives are NOT an issue: https://www.globaltimes.cn/content/1203691.shtml
Basically, 10.8 million people tested after an outbreak. No new cases of Covid-19 were found. That tells us that false positives, with the appropriate testing procedure, are not an issue.

False positives still happen. Again, I don't and have never trusted the numbers. Here's a recent case that happened last week.

From the article it seems that sub-par tests are still being used in some places.

If the Chinese are testing with a false positive rate of less than 1 in 10.8 million then I reckon that there's not too much to worry about if the job is being done right. Maybe the USAians should hire them some Chinese guys to do a proper job and ensure quality?

That's what I'm thinking of...the perfect time to travel. It looks like summer or even fall until mass vaccine maybe introduced.

This might be an opportunity to be one of few traveling out...
