Especially this part..

A further bill is also currently being formulated, which would allow non-Russian family members of Russian citizens to apply for extended-stay multiple-entry visas, provided they obtain a written invitation from their Russian relatives. A document of this type currently requires the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs%u2019 approval (the police). The current proposal is to extend the period of continued stay on Russian territory to one year from the current 90 days without any additional restrictions.

Brits appear to be still excluded from the new incoming rules.

Yeah but looks like the new long term visa is a modification of the private visa .. so instead of 90 days on a private visa you will get 12 months multi entry.. and with a stay up to 12 months .. would be great for family members and that would also be available to Brits just like the present 90 day private visa.. Im not expert but Im sure it will happen very soon..
