Dominic Cummings

[Irrelevant leftist political comments removed]

That and a 75k average for daily testing since the govt set a target of 100k, that andrewfi and Rosco 'assured' us was accurate....

I see the former-Soviet style editing knows no bounds !

Manny is upset that Boris' 'advisor' is now the  news in RIGHT WING newspapers ( for failing to adhere to govt lockdown rules ) and Tory Ministers are resigning ..

Now you have a topic to debate Cummings.

FWIW, I think it’s a non issue. The bloke did what he thought reasonable - the end.

Boris is correct to back him.

You lefties and the fake news media are beside yourselves with faux rage of course, and Boris doesn’t give a rats arse.

Welcome to grown up politics.

It's about the govt 'advisor ' being the news for being totally out of touch with acceptable choices.

With every 'excuse' he drags the govt. and its policies down.

Those who thought this was a 'lefty' ploy to be rid of Cummings don't seem to grasp Tory MPs have been swamped with angry constituents who behaved appropriately and had far worse situations to face.

Trying to pretend the story is finished and BoJo can ride this out?...

That will simply mean BoJo's 'decision making processes' will be forever doubted...

The debacle is still the news..not the virus and govt policy....there's a clue..

Manny, you appear to be acting like Boris ...deleting most of my post with a most untruthful 'summary )

I think it is as easy as 1-2-3 to solve the issue with Dominic Cummings..

Personally I think what he did was wrong even though he may of been thinking about his child, the bottom line is you cannot have one rule for one and one for another, of course all politicians
always have one rule for themselves and one for the dumb as *** general public..

Bu I would of thought it would be very easy to solve you just do this:

1. Select 50 police officers at random.

2, Sit them in a big classroom.

3. Ask them the question if they caught a member of the public traveling 300 miles during lockdown would they :

a. Turn them back
b. let them continue

The majority answer will decide his guilt.. simple really..

Im pretty sure the majority would tell them to return (b) Which means he broke lock down rules..

There are plenty of people who had the same situation and have even been fined for it and there are plenty who could not even attend a family funeral due to lock down..

Asked at a daily Downing Street press conference whether people who were fined for doing the same thing as Boris Johnson's top aide could have their charges refunded, Mr Hancock pledged to go over the issue with the Treasury.

That sums it up really! Guilty..
I support no government anywhere, ever, never. No institution, No religion!!

When even the money sites and motoring magazines are covering the story, one can guess how realistic BoJo and Co. are about this going away !

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-8357633/Which-SUVs-best-real-world-fuel-economy.html

Can a Land Rover Discovery Sport complete a 264-mile trip from London to Durham without a fuel stop? Seven SUVs with best real-world fuel economy
We calculate the gallons of diesel needed to Mr Cummings to drive 264 miles
Calculations suggests a journey from North London to Durham could be completed with half a tank of fuel in his Land Rover Discovery Sport
Using real-world economy figures, a 528-mile round trip would have been impossible without stopping for fuel

I think Jo Marney said it well on Twitter.

Quote
The rules were not ever ‘stay at home the entire time no matter what’.

The rules were ‘essential travel only’. Dominic Cummings wasn’t travelling for a picnic or to go and sunbathe.

He was undertaking essential travel to an isolated location.

Thats about the size of it.

The leftwaffe have predictably gone overboard yet again. That this is still in the news (instead of the 'virus' according to some extremists), says it all about the MSM and their anti government followers. Now we have writers from the Guardian physically threatening to assault Mr Cummings in front of his children, in a tweet and somehow or another, in his fair liberal mind, thinks that this is acceptable!!

I can see the hypocrisy, given what we were all mostly trying to do but now the facts have come out, most normal people would have made the same choices. It's the fact that this man is Mr Brexit and a nasty Tory, so the plebs roll about crying instead of moving onto more important stuff.

Sadly, the UK has now become just like the USA, when it comes to extremists being pandered to by liberal media. These poor hysterical people getting themselves worked up at the slightest issue and then making a mountain out of a mole hill, are the exact reason our country will be irreparably divided.

It's no longer about the issues, but the people involved, that decides which team your on. Pretty pathetic stuff.

 The leftwaffe'

You mean the Torygrapgh,

Daily Mail

Spectator

..they all moved to the 'left' ?:)

Someone may also need to drive to Barnard Castle to test their eyesight ...

Anyway, this amused me from 'Have I got news for you'..

PM refused to sack chief advisor Dominic Cummings, as he's keen to move on to 'Brexit' , and freeing the UK from the control of unelected bureaucrats...

More BBC bias there. ^

One of the anti establishment (supposedly impartial) BBC lot just got suspended from Newsnight. It’s a fop, she’ll be back on the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation before you know it.

And justifiably so. Maitlis is a person employed by an "impartial news reporting organisation" and she misused her position to virtue signal and broadcast her own personal agenda on national television. This wasn't news being reported, it was another example of a frustrated leftwaffer abusing their position and arrogantly thinking that their behaviour was acceptable. Who is she to speak authoritatively on all our behalf without consultation - a classic left wing trait?!

She was nothing more than a woman voicing her bias politicised opinion when she should have been reading autocue. Some people out there are actually trying to defend her but can you imagine their outrage if it were the other way round. Hypocrites

Gosh,

The 'biased' BBC was quick to act on ...bias...

In the meantime, BoJo's approval rating down 20 points into negative ..

It's NOT going away ..

Six out of 10 voters believe Dominic Cummings should QUIT for breaking lockdown rules in a new headache for Boris Johnson as the row over his chief aide sees his own approval rating plummet from 19% to minus 1% - its lowest since the pandemic began

The Cummings debacle has seen the govt. 'Respect/ support numbers go in the red.

It is hilarious to see the biggest fibber lolicy maker (£350 'saving' to the NHS) get busted for fibbing.

Even though she loves Cummings, she points out where the govt has made a HUGE mistake rallying around ..

It's already too late to 'apologise' for being wrong and thinking he's get away with it ..

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/politics/dont-want-cummings-go-did-expect-least-say-sorry/

I don't want Cummings to go, but I did expect him to at least say sorry

He should realise he was WRONG..

It's all rubbish. Leftwaffe shite. All they want to do is damage the government and delay Brexit. Thats what its all about.

Again:

Quote
The rules were not ever ‘stay at home the entire time no matter what’.

The rules were ‘essential travel only’. Dominic Cummings wasn’t travelling for a picnic or to go and sunbathe.

He was undertaking essential travel to an isolated location.

This is not a valid news item. "man whose wife has a cough drives a few miles in car to get childcare" is just about nothing!

Meanwhile, the leftist BBC has to suspend a leftist bird after hundreds of complaints and our fake news media is camped outside his door, but oh look..........

Manny,

How come FORTY 'lefty' Tory MPs agree

Home come TORY newspapers ran the story, with the same demand.. Cummings to go ...?

As ever, you TOTALLY miss the point .... Other folk obeyed the rules and made sacrifices .. HE is supposed to obey the rules he helped draw up..  When ministers in Scotland broke the rules they had to go ..

I am seriously concerned this will make folks less likely to obey govt advice ...(  NOT the best time to lose respect
