I'll be a happy young boomer if that happens. Not counting on it though. I do expect that we will see a very profitable return for those who bought before the last bubble, or thereafter.

Of course its likely that at least part of that rise will be due to a devaluation of the dollar, the currency against which Bitcoin is most often benchmarked.

Wishing you all the best... Due to halving soon 0.1 BTC wallet holders boomed however:

IF I could even understand why Mikey has included me in his 'bad news' ... that would be a start ...  :coffeeread:

Mobster can't even afford bitcoin so don't worry about him.

That'd be like you stating:

1/  I don't understand Russian ( enough) to talk to my wife and

2/ your 'expertise' on resident non UK citizens' spouses 'not having any problem to get US visas' and

3/ Your UK geographical knowledge ... ?

But three examples of your 'knowledge'

I do not hold ANY crypto-currency, thanks..Since I sold out having made a nigh on 30 fold return and left the kids to play, since when my holding on would have lost me nearly 40 percent of that gain ...

It wasn't skill, just a gut feeling ..  luck ..  I was 'advised' by a then 13 year old kid ...I matched his investment on the  he proviso he got out when I did ... he stayed in ...

Have you got any more dumb things to post like, " I'm an American and I'm posting from America" or "I work for Russian Oligarchs ... "  ?

So you matched the investment of a 13 year old kid and write about it like you’d scored on a high stakes, high investment gamble.

I suppose £600 on 20 quid is a big win for even you. Think of all the bird seed you could buy and send your wife!

Imagine the heady returns if he had put that famous $7 in? He'd have nearly enough for a Guardian subscription now.  :coffeeread:

Cufflinks, when you read the piece to which you linked you will see that the effect referred to is a short term one lasting for a few days.

As investors know, short term changes in valuations of any asset are just that, short term. Apart from adding to my holdings on an opportunistic basis, I have taken no action in response to such short term variations.

Why do people post links to stuff without reading the material to which they link?

All of you old wrinkle necked trout's need something to get your blood flowing lest you succumb to Corona Couch syndrome blood clots..  You can thank me later...

In the mean time everyone from Teeka Tiwari, Ivan on Tech, Data Dash and Alt Coin Buzz on YT touting the pending BTC halving as a reason to stock up on BTC now...will be interesting if said bump effect happens during a Global Pandemic of Biblical proportion or if just another BTC whales pump and dump opp...

Well, you just proved you've not bought any crypto...

Do tell us, Rosco, where you read you could have last  bought a bitcoin for a tenner (2 x £10 ?)..

Except it wasn't my 20 Lari to invest .. it was part of the 'care' package for someones 'g/f'.. :chuckle:

It may be 'infamous' because of certain trolls constantly proving they prefer to prove they weren't there and their need to lie..( repeatedly ) about stuff discussed on another board..You know, the sort of thing that 'ToS' dictates Moby mustn't do

ahahah another lie. 30 fold return on Bitcoin?  How much total profit did you make.  a few thousand quid is nothing.

Investing is never a gut feeling. You wouldn't know what a P/E ratio or index fund is if it hit you over the head.

When's the last time you were in "Ireland"..all the other Brits here say you don't have an Irish accent.

Your Russian geography is pretty bad too.  Sochi is SOUTH of Mosow

Moby BUSTED!!   If you actually knew ANYTHING about crypto you would know you can buy fractions of 1 bitcoin. Do you even know what a Satoshi is?  google it.

Even for your lies taking investing advice from a 13 year old kid is far fetched.  Do you ask your dog to pick which stocks to invest in from your pension funds?  :chuckle:

btw your Russian still is like that of a 3 year old.  With all the videos you post in Russia why isn't there one where you are having a conversation in Russian with all your "Russian" friends?!  :chuckle:

Work it out ? You can do arithmetic? ..   Buying in 2015, selling at the top in 2017 ...

Investing is never a gut feeling. You wouldn't know what a P/E ratio or index fund is if it hit you over the head.

'Sure' .. I wasn't trading in shares along time before you entered the world..    I bought my first house with the profits on 'stagging' new issues ..

When's the last time you were in "Ireland"..all the other Brits here say you don't have an Irish accent.

8 months ago..Most Brits couldn't tell where I was from by my accent, I speak with a VERY anglicised accent ... as it 'evolved' on coming to England a few days before my 13th birthday ..kids form their accents in their teenage years ... accents rarely change much after that.    I have a Heinz 57 accent, but it 'adapts' to the company I'm in .. I can mimic ;)

When I talk with a Belfast accent,  with other Belfast folk,  few English people could keep up / understand .. because 'we' speak so quickly ..

I'm from North Down, which has the least 'cutting / coarse' of Norn Irn' accents ..  I don't think a N.Ireland accent sounds v. nice .. even though I'm from there.

Your Russian geography is pretty bad too.  Sochi is SOUTH of Mosow

I have no idea where Mosow is, but for sure MosCow is north of Sochi ..  I have done the journey by train, plane, and partly by car / bus, enough times ..

Back on topic, I'm STILL wondering why Mikey had included me in his 'bad news'
