It sounds like a better offer than Ukraine's.

How many Russian women may I jet off at the same time?  ;)

I wonder what else is required though.

Every thing seems to be coming easier to gain Russian citizenship. It is the same for work, setting up business .. tourist visa's coming to an end and every thing else..

so now I have 2 paths to avoid visa's.

First: Visa being abolished
Second: Russian citizenship.

Presumably one couldn’t hold both UK and Irish citizenship/passports and have a wife who claims to be EU residency based for the convenience of a UK national insurance number and also become Russian.

I wouldn't mind a Russian passport though. Nice insurance policy in case Labour get in sometime in the future.

This law reform was proposed to change the old law, whereas, a foreigner living in Russia wishing to take up citizenship was required to renounce their own citizenship.
As far as I am aware at this time, the new law removes this requirement, but the other requirements regarding residency remains.
The idea is mainly based around FSU countries and of course Donbass etc.
Once the proposal is signed into law by VVP (who may have already signed it), there is a 90 day period before the law comes into force, during this time, the FMS specialists will re-write the rules, of the current law to implement the proposed changes, only then, when they are published will there be any clarity.
I do not wish to speculate as to who/what/where of the new law, but I suspect that the rules will remain as they were in the past with the exception of deleting the requirement to renounce the applicants own citizenship.
I may of course be wrong, we should wait and see..

Australia doesn't care how many Passports you have as long as you enter Oz on the correct one. I didn't get a Russian one in earlier years because I would never renounce the Oz one.
