Russia send transport plane full of medical aid to US.
« on: April 01, 2020, 10:29:51 AM »
Russia send transport plane full of medical aid to US. It is my understanding this is a swap agreement. Our factories will not make enough ventilators  and protective gear in time and after our peak will have a huge number of Ventilators likely unused. They are sending us equipment now while they have the virus somewhat under control with the hopes it they need it we will send them what they need at that time.

3) There has been no "threat" to invade Ukraine. The US invented that and fed it to a complicit media.

A simple thank you will show appreciation for Russia's help.

From Reuters

U.S. debunks Russia's "humanitarian aid" claims, says medical supplies fully paid for

11:40, 02 April 2020 WORLD  Russian envoy earlier claimed Russia was "lending a helping hand to the American people."

The United States has purchased from Russia, not received as assistance, a batch of medical supplies, in particular, ventilators and personal protection equipment. The delivery was a result of the agreements reached by the heads of both states during a phone call on March 30. "As a follow-up to the March 30 phone call between President Trump and President Putin, the United States has agreed to purchase needed medical supplies, including ventilators and personal protection equipment, from Russia, which were handed over to FEMA on April 1 in New York City," Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said in a press statement on April 1, 2020. The U.S. said the countries of the G20 agreed last week to work together to defeat the coronavirus.

Moreover, Washington said the United States is a generous and reliable contributor to crisis response and humanitarian action across the world. On March 30, Russian media reported on the transfer of humanitarian aid by Russia. In addition, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said on April 1 the Russian Federation "is lending a helping hand to the American people. This is a historical moment and the continuation of a centuries-old tradition," without mentioning that this assistance was purchased by the United States.

Earlier, concerns have arisen in Italian political circles and media about the so-called "humanitarian assistance" that Russia is providing to the country to combat the coronavirus. According to senior sources of La Stampa, Russia is far from being guided by solely humanitarian motives, but rather pursues its own political and diplomatic interests. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, the newspaper writes, agreed to accept Russian assistance to "strengthen wonderful personal relations" with Moscow. However, as the sources of the publication note, 80% of Russian deliveries are "absolutely useless or of little use" for Italy to fight COVID-19, being nothing more than an excuse.

The last paragraph of the Reuters article you can almost feel the spray of angry spittle.  :chuckle:

It’s still aid even if they paid. Help is help. I don’t recall Russia saying it was free.

What IS all the 'fuss' about ?

The US seems to need the stuff ...it's not like Russia has ever needed anything from the US...

I can picture both US and Russian citizens 'refusing' help on principle .. they belong in the same bar..with the other sad folks

I read somewhere that the person or entity in Russia that authorized the aid is actually blacklisted by the US in conjunction with the Crimean sanctions.  Manny could you shed some light on this?

Putin and Trump had a phone conversation. Putin offered and Trump accepted. Putin then authorized aid to be delivered to America. Putin isn't blacklisted or punished by sanctions.
Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776. If you want to stop the war in Ukraine, fix elections, stop medical tyranny and forced vaccinations, lower inflation and make America and the world a better place, get Trump back into power. The Democrats and Republicans have shown they can't do the job. They are good at robbing us and getting people killed in non stop wars.
