Lifting the US embargo on Cuba and all economic sanctions
« on: March 31, 2020, 01:35:45 PM »
Lifting the USΑ embargo on Cuba and all economic
sanctions on countries where they have been imposed

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the whole world to see the real face of supposed enemies and friends. The small, excluded and impoverished Cuba has shown great examples of solidarity and humanity, assisting with dispatches of medical supplies, equipment and human resources to the countries affected by the epidemic. On the other hand, the US continues to block Cuba and intensify its economic sanctions against Venezuela and Iran, a country that tops the list of countries most affected by the new corona virus and completely disregarding the cost of human lives that this policy costs.

The US embargo on Cuba was imposed in late 1960, nearly two years after the overthrow of the US-backed dictator Batista by the Cuban revolution. For 70 years now, it is the longest embargo in world history. It has been denounced by many human rights organizations for its serious impact on the financial and living conditions of the Cuban people, and for 28 consecutive years the UN has declared it illegal and calls for its removal. The most recent decision by the UN General Assembly was in November 2019, with 187 votes in favour of lifting the blockade, 3 against (US, Israel and Brazil) and 2 countries abstaining (Colombia and Ukraine).

According to the Cuban government, the impact of the trade embargo on the Cuban people is so serious that it meets the criteria for being classified as genocide, as defined in the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Suppression of the Crime of Genocide. The imposition of an embargo on a country is considered a method of collective punishment of an entire people and as such is prohibited by international law.

However, the US insists on using the "weapon" of the embargo and financial penalties against any country that does not give them the "grace" to have a government of their choice. The same thing has happened in Venezuela since August 2019, when legally elected President Nicolas Maduro succeeded in overthrowing his coup d'état - US puppet Juan Guayido. Similarly, Iran suffers from the consequences of the longstanding trade embargo and sanctions imposed on it by the United States. In addition, the above countries have not taken any aggressive action against the United States to justify sanctions as some form of defence of the United States. In all three cases, however, the sole purpose of the embargo, formally declared by the US governments, is to change the status of these countries. It is a blatant interference in the internal affairs of the states, a violation of their national independence and the right of self-determination of their people.

It is the duty of all of us, every free-thinking person who respects the lives and rights of his fellow human beings, every democratic citizen who understands the importance of peoples' freedom and the independence of states, to oppose the US attempt to impose itself as a world leader. React and demand by all means the lifting of the US embargo and financial sanctions; the prohibition of the use of such illegal and inhumane means in the pursuit of international policy; the condemnation of the US by the international community if they continue to use it tactics of collective "punishment" of the peoples for the promotion of their economic and political interests.

  • Lifting the US embargo against Cuba!
  • Lifting all economic sanctions against Iran, Venezuela and elsewhere!

While I will refrain from commenting on the efficacy of embargoes, ALL humanitarian aid to a country such as Cuba or Venezuela is exempt for embargoes.

Whether countries or individual follow that principle is another matter. If a country declines aid again that is there choice.

Obviously you agree with the Criminal actions and genocides by the USA Empire against the people of a small or other Nations!

You clearly support the imposition of puppet Governments, regime change, financial penalties against any country that does not give them the "grace" to have a government of their choice.

Hitler had also the same ideas about the Jews and other countries he invaded too!

North Korea has been under US sanctions since they beat the US in the Korean War in the 50s.

Most of the issues the world has had with North Korea ever since stems from that ongoing action by the US that continues to this day. They are still defending themselves from American aggression.

The US are sore losers........

What happened? Did an American piss you off somewhere again?

China forced the USA into a bloody stalemate and Truman wouldn't let MacArthur
invade/attack/bomb China and fired him. America was tired of war but saying
that we lost is a total mischaracterization of history.

I think that South Korea needs to learn how to defend themselves and they need
to learn how to sink or swim on their own. They have The economy the 4th largest
GDP in Asia and the 12th largest in the world. They can afford to fend for themselves.

The North Korean economy is about one percent of South Korea.

Your invasion and attempted regime change failed in the north. You captured the south only (and still occupy it). That’s not a victory.

As with most military escapades of the US, you’re good at invading and destroying. But not too good on outcomes and winning.

I say open the Korean border and let the Korean people decide what side of the fence they want to live on. Americans are free to leave America. All people should be free to leave their nation if they want.

Japan was occupied after the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where millions lost their life and still suffer from Radiation.......their economy recovered and flourish until the American corporations took over the most productive successful companies and now is stagnating from the US occupation.

South Korean economy also improved and is flourishing but the Americans are still there occupying the country. If the Americans moved out I am sure the 2 leader will find the way to unify the country. After all they are all Koreans......

What I would like to know, is Cuba danger to the US, so they have to continue imposing their sanctions..... when already they are occupying part of the country  using it for their dirty business?

Finally we must NOT forget that USA was the only country that used Atomic Bombs!

It is hilarious that Manny asks Wiz to desist from discussing his howlers re immigration law  with yours truly then joins with him in  supporting revisionist history re Korea..

In the case of Cuba, I do believe that 'O'Bama' was smarter and that US folk spending their USD would more likely undo the Cuban govt's stance ...

The newer US sanctions on Iran FORCED them into breaking agreements with the EU and other nations ...

Japan ?  It has survived nuclear disasters in the form of bombs it brought on its on head ( refusal to surrender )  and Nuclear Power station radiation leaks after natural disasters ...  WHO still thinks the likes of Toyota 'suffered' as a result of the US ?

Korea: One part is a truly democratic, capitalist govt and t'other run by an autocratic  family dynasty ..  that even it's  former ex-Communist neighbours have needed to sanction ..

Considering the Communists at one point controlled 7/8th of the Korean peninsula and seeing what they 'control' today I doubt that is a win. Seeing the prosperity of the beautiful South compared to the Utopia of the North, I suspect that if the borders were free one would see a movement of the population like between East and West Germany before and as the wall came down.

I am fully aware of the facts and you are blind and unable to read and understand my statement.

No other nation have used them against humans but I am sure Isra(h)el who never admitted ownership of any atomic bombs, despite the statement/announcement  in the London "TIMES" by one of it's scientists , whom Mossat arrested in Italy and abducted back to Israel, will not hesitate to use them!  :evilgrin0002:

I’ve been to the DMZ, and looked into South Korea from North Korea. Read my TR, zoom in on the DMZ photo. Those soldiers standing there in 2019 are American soldiers not South Korean soldiers. You occupy South Korea. CNN won’t tell you that. I photographed it. You’re welcome.

If you lot went home and ceased your occupation, Korea would reunify.

In the Korean Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum are copies of American leadership plans, I think by President Truman?, and the memos stated that they want to cut Asia in half with a knife through Korea. They did....

In the Pyongyang Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum is compelling evidence of American war crimes in Korea as well. Probably a topic you don’t want to open too far to be fair. Research first. It wasn’t America’s finest hour.
