Is it even possible to do a birth register search there ?
Any recommendations who to contact or private agency to use ?

Thanks,
Rae

Lets call this child a "he" for the purpose of this conversation so that
I don't have to call them he or she. If the Child was born in Ukraine
then he would have a Ukrainian birth certificate. If he was born in
the USA they would have a USA birth certificate.

I think what you meant to ask is if you wife secretly acquired UA
citizenship for the child, without your knowledge or help. The answer
is I seriously doubt it. She would need certified copies of your birth
certificate, passport etc and then to get a large assortment of
translations, apostilles, stamps etc.

The Kinks wrote a song with the lyrics "paranoia will destroy ya!"

If you still love your wife you need to get together with her and
talk and talk and talk until you get to a point that you have mutual
trust and respect.

If she wants to get Ukrainian citizenship for the child I think that
you should probably support her in this. What are your reservations?
Worried about the child getting drafted and going to war? Worried
that the marriage is over and she will steal the child back to Ukraine?

Rae:
Late to reply, sorry.

Manny: Not in UA. Normal western country.

Wife brought marriage certificate, internal passport, childs birth certificate for trip. Flights were not booked with a UA passport.

I really don't want to get into a story now dissecting every little nuance. I asked, was told no, but not sure if I believe her.

So my simple question again is if there is some way to verify in the UA birth registry if my child has been issued a UA birth certificate?
Do you know a trustworthy P.I. agency I can contact?
Inbox reply is fine as well.

Thanks again,
Rae

Manny:
I fail to see how or why Ukraine would issue a birth certificate for a child not born there. Or what use it would be.

Ukraine IIRC doesn’t allow dual nationality so obtaining one as a path to citizenship seems unlikely.

Your wife would need the western birth certificate if she is on a visit home with the child as sometimes these countries make a fuss about kids exiting with adults and ask for further proof that you’re a parent. A birth certificate being the best proof.

I don’t think using an investigative agency of any kind would yield results. They’d more likely take your cash, do nothing and report no document exists.

If you really want to spend some money, there is a woman called Mila some know here who can probably be paid to research public data bases. Someone can post a link to her site if they have it handy.

Rae:
Thanks Manny for the name.

Child obtains UA citizenship by birthright (mama).

I made the trip too, but your points are valid....  *sigh*
