I need opinion from UK British
« on: November 18, 2019, 11:00:46 AM »
Hello,
An UK company offers me a creative project.  They will gives me ₤2,000.00 per month for the first 6 months.  If the project is successful, they will inject more money into my brain and bank account.

It may or may not be a short term offer.  I also want know the income tax rate and profit tax rate in UK.  Please show me some useful figures.

I think I will stay in London.  What is the accommodation cost in London for a single man?

£2000 is not enough money for anything, especially not if you have to change country.

If you want detailed info about taxation then you need to talk to a specialist in your country. Your new employer should also be able to provide you with relevant information very easily - if they can't, or won't, then they are not a company that you want as an employer. However, the money on offer tells us that they are not a good employer unless the task is delivering food on a bicycle.

Andrewfi,
Yes, they are not a good employer.  They are a venture capital fund. The purpose of my question is to understand how I will live in London with ₤2000 per month.

It does not sound good enough to keep me creative.

You need to earn a salary of £2500 / month to qualify for a work visa - if your employer is registered as a employer/ sponsor  of non-EU nationals

As for living in London on such a salary .. You can - people do - but you'll exist  - not live

I have never claimed to be a Blue Beret

Spurious claims about 'seeing action' with the Blue Berets are debunked >here<

Why are they paying so little as a venture capital fund?  I worked in London in finance.  Salaries should be 3-4k pounds a month minimum.  It costs 1000 pounds just to rent a studio in the city.  Don't go.

If you are working for them then they are your employers. Legally, if you work only for them then they are your employers.

If they are underpaying, as they almost certainly are then they are not providing you with an opportunity worth taking, especially if they are avoiding their responsibilities and suggesting that you are some kind of contractor. COntractors get paid higher amounts to compensate for the inconvenience of not being an employee.

Seems to me that you are getting into something that you know too little about. Stick to collecting a wage, learn about contracting and then do it right.

Do not go!! London is an absolute shit hole unless you got plenty of cash to have lots of fun with...

I left the UK a long time back everyone has gone all weird and mentally disfunctioning..

Im back in the UK for a few weeks and can you believe it is like a nut house!! Frigi**** soap operas all bloody night every night and do you know what they do argue non stop  hour after hour this not a bloody happy family any where just arguing and problems, christ it is enough to make you want to shoot your self or chuck the **** tv out of the window!

What sort of people watch this shit day after day?

Then during the day it is stupid quizzes and shows with the most stupid dumb ass humans I have ever see..

Bargain hunt.. then comes  the chase, then comes another stupid program then another then another it is day after day the same shit..

Then Ant and deck, then Im a celebratory get me out of here, then Britains got talent, then the ex factor..

***************** it really is crazy!!! Best advice if you do move to the UK DO NOT GET A TV!!
