Golden Visas in Europe
« on: November 12, 2019, 01:03:07 AM »
Looks like Greece found a way to get money into the country haah..

Rich Chinese buying up properties and getting Greek citizenship.

https://www.france24.com/en/20191110-greece-speeds-up-golden-visa-scheme-for-chinese-investors

Alot of other European countries do the same, Malta, Cyprus, Spain. they'll take money from anyone for a visa.

Maybe it went over your head..  Greece is so poor they offer visas to anyone with money.  The Chinese are rich enough.

BTW Wiz if you want some Chinese lessons I'd offer them to you but I don't think you can afford me

Guile, Canada, and the United States have similar systems to those used in Greece and other EU countries. That is, an investment in the country gains the investor right of residence. Are we to infer that the United States and Canada are as poor as Greece, for the same reason as you gave above?

Maybe it went over your head..  Greece is so poor they offer visas to anyone with money.  The Chinese are rich enough.

Obviously you are ignorant of certain facts....... May I remind you the fact that the "poor...state of the UK" has been offering "Golden visas" to many rich foreigners and most of the Russian Oligarchs are here and invested billions in the City of London and bought many businesses.......and other assets.

The same you will find happening in most EU countries....... who offer also a Passport too!

So where is the problems for a few more Rich Chinese immigrants going to poor Greece with the right to reside and work there, importing a few millions Euro or Dollars?  :P :P :P

BTW Wiz if you want some Chinese lessons I'd offer them to you but I don't think you can afford me

Why should I have to learn another language in addition to the ones I speak and can communicate with other foreign people?

I am sure my Greek co-patriots will find the way to communicate with the 1000's Chinese visitors who will replace the British clients, lost with the demise of Thomas Cook!

Look how fast they moved to replace the lost trade..... and also the THE FACT that President Xi is visiting Greece because he wants more trade Facilities on the Silk Road to the EU via Greece. Read the ancient history of Greece and learn........ how they colonised places around the Med. What's different now that China become a power house?

Do you think China investing in Greece it's bad?
Both countries benefit.... except some empty of ideas and knowledge minds, like yours.

The UK has one too: https://www.gov.uk/innovator-visa

For only 50 thousand quid!  Thing is people want to go to Canada and the USA. Greece not so much. their economy is in the dumps. It's just an easy way for them to get citizenship. We both know it's much harder to get into the USA and Canada.

Mykonos and Santorini are lovely places to have a vacation though!  And I love me some good lamb souvlaki, greek salad, spanakopita, saganaki.  Maybe I'll get one hahaha

No..

This is NOT a 'golden visa' .

It will NOT get you ( result in ) citizenship like the CY one I refer to in another thread ..

I think it is 500,000 GBP for the UK or 1 million in Property .. not so much for rich Russians to get a UK passport.. every country sells citizenship I think it is about 300,000 for Russia not sure exactly .. cheaper in the Caribbean.. 90K will get you  a passport on some islands..

Nope..

Even 2 million GBP , plus c. another 2 k for the fees and ONE 1 x annual NHS surcharge will not get one's family in and 'British' - three years only ..

This is the innovator visa for smart people. And yes you can get settlement after extending the visa and being in the country for 5 years.

No need for any visa to bring your family to the UK in any case! There is the RBFV Process (Rubber boat family visa ) For this  you must enter the UK By boat with your family an important part of the process is entry is only accepted if you enter via Dover and you must arrive in person on the beach.

It has many advantages , it is totally free and housing and food comes included in the package.. you also need to cover yourself in boot polish for the initial few weeks.

Once you qualify for this package it allows to to DEMAND all sorts of things , you actually get more privileges than British citizens

Or by lorry!!  But there was the sad case recently where 39 people died..

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/nov/12/vietnamese-families-struggle-to-repatriate-essex-lorry-victims

The problem is once they get into the UK it's hard to kick them out so they will risk everything to come.

Do not understand the mentality of these people! Why the hell would anyone want to pay 30k to be smuggled into the UK!! If I was living in Vietnam and had 30k going spare it makes more sense to set your kid up with a business .. get them on a online course and set up some online business much better solution than risking your life in a lorry to the UK and when you arrive living in squalor ..

The problem all comes down to mentality! It is like many Russians believe life  in the UK is wonderful for all and every one, all are earning 100k a year there is no poverties, all have a big 4 bedroom house and it takes JUST 2 years to save up to buy an English castle..  I have met many clueless Russians who think everyone is rich in the UK, some time I tell people I arrived in Russia with just a fiver they think Im bloody lying! Some of my wife's friends even think she married me cos Im a rich Englishman  absolutely clueless  it is the same all over the world.. people see what they want to see..

Just like many in the UK think no one has food in Russia everyone is poor and all women who are married are regularly beaten by the drunk husband..

My friend married a Russian women been living in the UK 8 years just got the UK passport, he said to me she wants to go to NEW York and Paris now
You do not need a UK passport to go to New York or Paris I explain you need money!! What happened in the last 8 years then? UK passports do not include flight and hotel vouchers ..

It is the mentality thing that makes people THINK life is better in the UK..

Life is wonderful where ever you live if you work hard and make money.. scamming your way to the UK is not the answer to your problems..

Tell that to Moby! he thinks everyone should be entitled to go to the UK

True enough if you have money you can make a good life anywhere.  London is a cool place if you got cash but a 1 bed flat in Zone 1 is over 500k quid!

Why do you think the Russians are buying visas in the UK and elsewhere.. poor billionaire Abramovich couldn't get his renewed cause they wanna find out the source of his money  :chuckle:

Many will tell you that even though one is resident in the UK, they could not take their RU wife to the US...until they got the UK passport

How do you work that out then?? You just go make a US visa!! Any fool can make a US visa.. and plenty of Russians travel to the US on holiday...

The wife applies for a visa with all documentation and takes same stuff to the embassy for an interview.. we have been meaning to visit the US now for some time and probably early next year my wife will make a US visa as easy as 1-2-3 ..

Funny how some people talk and therefore think of their wives as objects, property.

I confess to being at something of a loss to understand how one cannot apply for a visa to the USA. The application may be turned down, but to tell people as a matter of fact that an application can't be made seems, on its face, silly and misleading.

Wrong dude.  Russians can get a US visa with their Russian passport, why do they need a UK one? Bad advice from our "world traveler"  :chuckle:

A passport is just a identification document for travel nothing more!!

You can be on the social in the UK so what does that make your passport worth ? Nothing! Cos you probably will not be able to afford a night out in Blackpool ..

It all comes down to your circumstances for visas anyone can make a visa for any where if their circumstances are good enough usually that means you have plenty of money, some assets and look like your settled where ever you are, could be the Congo could be Timbuktu it is all the same!

Probably got bad credit.. :chuckle:  Actually the deny very few! same the other way around they deny very few applying for a UK visa i  think it is less than 3% and probably lots has changed in the last few years.. I remember when Russians wanting a UK visa had to go for an interview in Moscow.. those days are long gone.. probably the same story for the US today..

We made the kids UK visa's a couple of years ago and didn't see any sad faces coming out of the visa collection office looked like they was handing them out like postage stamps..
