Apparently the pilot is a lawyer , got bored and changed career

You can't navigate away from a flock of birds.
Read a trip report from North Korea >>here<< - Read a trip report from South Korea, China and Hong Kong >>here<<

Look what the American media makes some people believe:
Putin often threatens to strike US with nuclear weapons.

Was the extra info you added about the captain being an ex lawyer, just additional or suggestive?

This was the entire premise of US Airways Flight 1549. Any landing you can walk or swim away from is a good one.

So we have the Miracle on the Hudson and now the Miracle in Ramenesk. Wonder if T. Hanks wants to play the lead role?

You forgot to mention "The Gimli Glider" where a pilot here in Canada landed a dead 767 when it ran out of fuel in 1983. The pilots from all three of these events deserve special recognition for their heroic deeds.

Had to think, WTF?, before realising your planned career change .. Hope that answers your Q ..

The additional info came from one of my 'imaginary RU friends' - who showed me the article in Russian, after I asked him had he heard of the crash

And the person who ran the load sheets, needs sacked. Metric or imperial, that was a bad one.

An ex lawyer, teacher or farmer is still as competent as the next pilot, once they complete their training. Interesting fact though.
