A proper 1000th Post
« on: July 20, 2019, 03:58:09 PM »
We have a member, Wes, he was our 329th member back in the early days in 2007, and he doesn't say much here, but what he does say is considered, sensible, intelligent and valued.

Today, 12 years after he came here, he made his 1000th post. read it >>here<<.

I'd like to thank Wes for being a part of our community here for so long and I hope I dont need to wait until 2031 to read his 2000th post.
Trip Reports: Links to my travels in Russia, Estonia, North Korea, South Korea, China and the US are >>here<<

Look what the American media makes some people believe:
Putin often threatens to strike US with nuclear weapons.

In 2012 my ex wife's mother found out I had never been baptized and insisted I get it done the next trip I took to Dnepropetrovsk. I mentioned it here on site and Wes said that his father-in-law was a priest in Dnep. After talking to my wife and to Wes it was found that the church I was getting baptized in was the same one Wes's father-in-law was in. Wes told him about me coming and although it was his day off he came to do the ceremony for me. That showed me how small this world really is!
Congrats on the 1000th post Wes, and say hi to Father Nikolai for me!

Thanks guys.  Over the years we have come to meet a number of others both single and couples who have gone this route for love and marriage.  There are at least 3 couples here that married within days of each other including "rvrwind" (Richard and Valya now living in Calgary, Alberta whose Wedding we attended in Tver, Russia 5 days before our own) and LeslieD  presently in Turkey and perhaps others.  Really hard to think this was all 16 years ago this year.  Likewise a number of others also met someone special in Dnepr. with differing levels of success as noted by d672 etc.

Some here post a lot some less so, still seems like a large number of posts though.
