Women’s World Cup 2019
« on: June 13, 2019, 11:48:20 AM »
Yesterday evening France beat Norway. France was awarded a penalty kick on a questionable call.

France is one of the favorites to win it all.

The USA routed Thailand, to say the least. The US team are the defending champs.

The event is being held in France. 9 Million French tuned in to watch the match last evening.

As of right now Australia is beating Brazil 3 to 2. If that score holds it will be an upset.

Germany is favored in group B. England is favored in their group.

Australia just prevailed against Brazil, a surprising outcome.

The USA will play Chili next.

USA barely got past Spain 2-1.  Not very good defense that allowed Spain to score the first goal on the USA team.

I was honestly tempted to root for Spain!

One of the US players is really annoying.

As it is I’m rooting for Germany.

I agree 100% with President Trump on this issue. She should be benched or kicked off the team. Athletes and Celebrities are confused when they think we care about their political opinions. To me they are only wind up monkeys, nothing more.

I agree 100%!

To this day I’m still mad at Jimmy Carter for using athletes as pawns and boycotting the 1980 Olympics.

And last thing I want to see at a Soccer match is some damn militant lesbian! Vomit.

It sounds like a lot of the English team live pretty close to someone on this forum! I’m just guessing of course but it shows what a small place England really is.

"We kind of have a joke in the England team about this, how you could throw a blanket over a 50-mile radius in the northeast of England and you’ve got myself, Lucy Staniforth, Jordan Nobbs, Steph Houghton, Demi Stokes, Jill Scott, Carly Telford, Beth Mead edging into that – there are lots of us who have made up most of the squad for a long time now," Lucy Bronze said.

I would imagine that’s because they play for either Newcastle, Sunderland or Middlesbrough, the most prominent teams in the north east. The 3 cities are extremely close to one another.

I thought the match between England and Norway would be over when I woke up (?) but I cannot find the score for it?

They play matches at 10 pm at night? Considering how hot it is in France that may be a possibility.

Any of the UK members have answers to my questions? Thx.

It’s not looking good for Norway. 40 minutes in and England scored again on a beautiful pass.

I quite liked japan <-> the netherlands game. It was obvious that Japan played a much better game second half of the match. However the Dutch got lucky and won 2-1.
