Nw third class trains being rolled out in Russia
« on: November 22, 2018, 11:18:29 AM »
When I first arrived in Russia about 15 years ago I often traveled on the third class “platskart” trains, it was about 7.00GBP  Moscow to St Petersburg It wasn't to bad a ride either..

Even used to do the seat only on the night train .. eight hours stuck in a uncomfortable seat ;D

The new third class trains look very nice..

Though no need to travel third class Moscow - St Petersburg now prices have dropped right down for the Sapsan express , when it first came out the express train was about 120.00 GBP one way , but that was when the rouble was 1.00 GBP =49 Roubles something like that.. now you can take the express train for around 30.00 GBP if you book 4 weeks in advance with Russian railways..
