Political Cartoons
« on: June 07, 2015, 11:28:20 AM »
I come across quite a few political cartoons on my internet travels. Some are quite funny irrespective of if you agree with them or not.

So I thought we might have a topic on them. Post any you come across that you like.

Here is mine for today:

Read a trip report from North Korea >>here<< - Read a trip report from South Korea, China and Hong Kong >>here<<

Look what the American media makes some people believe:
Putin often threatens to strike US with nuclear weapons.

Right now the Supreme Court in the USA is debating whether or not marriage should be re-defined.  The Lawyers for Obama have admitted that it would also affect freedom of speech and commerce.  In other words a Southern Baptist Pastor or an Orthodox Russian Priest or a Rabbi who wanted to preach the traditional version of marriage which per the Bible and per the Old Testament and per Judaic custom for thousands of years has been defined as one man and one woman could be accused of "hate speech" and their church would lose its tax exempt status.

Religious Liberty is what the USA is founded upon and yet the Obama administration continues to chip away at the freedoms this country has enjoyed for over 200 years.

Already in Oregon a bakery which refused to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding was forced to go out of business.

Be careful what you wish for, you might get it.

Look, we're gonna spend half the night driving around the Hills looking for this one party and you're going to say it sucks and we're all gonna leave and then we're gonna go look for this other party. But all the parties and all the bars, they all suck. <-Same goes for forums!

Two here that made me laugh.

Как-то так среднестатистический хохол представляет себе пляжи в Крыму.
This is what the average Ukrainian imagines beaches look like in Crimea.

sigh... :(

Did you notice the, probably unintended, subtext?

From the way the drawing is made: If the Greek bloke jumps off then the banks will probably take the EU chappie with them.
...everything ends always well; if it’s still bad, then it’s not the end!

Honestly, at firstt i haven't noticed, until you pointed it out... Seems the chappie in the cartoon made the same mistake like i did  :innocent:

Or, maybe, the subtext is that the banks will keep the Greek gent from falling too far.

I also thought like Andrew, otherwise the bank's faces wouldn't be so sad. They would be more neutral.

not really a cartoon, but wasn't sure where to post it  :saint:

This one would be even more funny if Crimea was in the process of seperating with a Russian tank weighing it down.
