It's no surprise to those of us who regularly watch the Olympics that there is an active weightlifting culture in FSU. As a kid I remember being riveted to the TV screen watching Vasily Alexeyev's massive lifts at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics.

I thought about this when I saw a video of an 18 year old named Julia Vins doing squats with 180 kgs (that's kgs, not pounds; it would be nearly 400 pounds).

Here she is. You have to fast forward to the 5:24 mark to see her 180 kg squats.

Gorgeous girls, Bill.  Oh, the incomparable beauty of a wonderful popka!  If Michelangelo were alive today I believe he would be sculpting girls like those last three girls.  Unless, you know, the rumors about him were true. 

By the way, girls looking to gain a great popka should do squats and with heavy weights.

I didn't notice in my first look at the photos, but as I go back now to check I see that they do.
Not sure what I was focusing on in my first look.
