Stalking
« on: December 08, 2012, 12:29:24 PM »
I have a Russian friend and she is being stalked by an
Italian man. She receives 60 sms per day (sometimes
more) He also gives similar treatment to her mother,
friends and family.

What can she do to stop this?

She could file a complaint at the Italian Consulate. (I doubt that it will be taken seriously but there is the off-chance that other complaints may have been filed about the perp.)

If it is just SMSes, then the phone company may be able to block it.  If not, does she have a smartphone?  See http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/41123/how-do-you-block-annoying-text-message-sms-spam/  Looks like you can block based on SMS content or by number of the sender.

I have seen this before unfortunately, and with another Italian  (:) They dont do Rejection, in fact they dont do it at all   :D

I am afraid in the other case they had to change phone numbers, they dont do blocking of individual numbers on mobiles in Russia and the only way was to block all international numbers  (:) somewhat counter productive in her search  (:)

She actually had him removed and black listed from the site he was on... but its about all she could do :coffeeread:

This has been going on since May. Changing phone numbers is not good enough
since Mom and family are getting the treatment as well. He uses "Viber" and she
has blocked him a hundred times only for him to send her a text a moment later.

2T---  get new sim cards and new number-- divert calls to new number -- so you still receive calls. Sms do not divert .
Alternatively-- get ANYTHING coming from that area blocked by phone company.

The girl is in Russia the guy is in Germany

Of course the simplest way is to change your phone number, I'm assuming she doesn't want to do this. The next easiest way is to get an app to block the numbers issuing the SMS.  Don't know what type of phone she uses, here's an example for blocking SMS on Android type phones and the iPhone. Haven't tried either so I can't say if they work.

Have the guy visit and have a couple guys give him the business.  I know 5 years ago the price to kill a Ukraine politician was $4,000 usd.  A mob style ass beating probably $200.

What about turning 4chan onto this guy?  That "community" tends not to take this kind of behaviour very well.

Even in jest, I do not think one should invoke ideas of a paid beating in the FSU. That kind of mob mentality very easily gets out of control.  :o

It does seem Italians, in fact any of the "latin" cultures men don't do rejection well.

No use just trying to block the sms's, since he knows the phone number and can call it, or create any other kind of havoc.

Question? how the hell does he know everyone in the families phone number?

Anyway, they all need to change sim cards together. Cheap as chips, just a temporary pain to get rid of a longer term problem.

Real stand-up advice, classy

Maybe they (lady + family) just change sim cards - I know its radical but it might just work!!!
If you get a minute check out Bruce's TR - Its not quite finished, however its still a pretty good read IMHO.

If I win the lottery I'll finish it this week if not I'll probably complete it when I retire!!! Until then I hope you enjoy the story so far!

The term is Sociopath.  The person is so obsessed with himself that he doesn't care how he ruins the quality of life for other people.  He knows that he has absolutely no chance with her.  But he would rather ruin her life for his own satisfaction then leave her alone.

There are reams of documents written about sociopaths.  The best way to get them out of your life is to totally ignore them.  In the US we have restraining orders.  It is possible, over a six week period, to have a restraining order filed.  I don't know if there is a similar legal operation in Russia.

But have your friend read up on sociopaths.  It will give her insight and assist her family in dealing with him.

Ultimately the best way to get rid of him is to have some other woman be the object of his obsession.

The man is Italian and lives in Italy so doing something in Russia
wouldn't likely be of any use. Probably changing phone numbers
or sim cards is the best idea.

Although maybe having his photo on antidate might make the guy
want to do something to have it removed.

Not just on antidate.  I'd try to find a forum from and news commentary section in a paper in his hometown and post it there, post it here, post it at another forum, on all the FSUW forums, and then text to let him know she's done that, and will continue doing so until he stops harassing her.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Faced with exactly the same problem that was one measure we used-- also on facebook for all to see--need to be sure of getting wording correct-- but driving home accountability is the key.Of course not much will work in the case of guys who are completely crazy-- so these are not issues to be dismissed lightly.

Those are-- excellent ideas-- but-- also important-- an attempt should be made-- to contact-- the man's wife-- should he have one.
