The straight forward translation is actually "males", but in russian language it can be used with two meaning. I translate definition of  самец (самцы  -- just plural)

Саме́ц — форма живого организма, производящая мелкие, подвижные гаметы — сперматозоиды
Male - a form of living organism, which produces smaller, mobile gametes - sperm.
So the first meaning the way this word could be used in russian language is as to referring to males of certain species - example dog male or elephant male. But as well in russian language it could be used in offensive contexts towards men as existing form of living organism with only purpose of sperm

As well I should point out that самцы is "downgrading" kind of word when its used in that second meaning. Example Stud can be taken in some kind of "upgrading" context (some dictionaries give definition of stud as sexy attractive men), thats not a case with самцы. However russian language is very rich and I am sure in correct circumstances it can be  used as praise with hint of sarcasm. But I would not suggest someone who is just learning russian to try to use this word in that way, as it can go very wrong

I was inviting FSUW to the forum today and was accused of a number of things.

Yes, however only 5 votes are allowed in the poll.

The theory when I put together the poll was that the top items with the
largest number of FSUW would be identified. It appears that humor tops
the list and to love and be loved are next. 

I hope that some of the new girls vote in the poll
