3. Голубий (holoobee) This is Russian, it is used in Ukraine but it is not a Ukrainian word, but Light Blue or Gay in Russian.

I was once studying Linkword Russian, (see Linkword Russian wordlist), and it gives "Galooboy" as light blue.

Well that's bloody marvelous, i must have said harasho ( now apparently not "ok" ) a thousand times now, and that's one of the few words i know, except i clearly don't!

Harasho is Russian, not Ukrainian, this is the Ukrainian word of the day thread, please keep up     I assume Mrs Dazzer speaks Russian, not Ukrainian  

Although, to complicate matters even more even predominantly Ukrainian speaking Ukrainians also use Harasho a lot too

I used to get confused how to say "Canadian", until i finally realized that it's different in Russian  "канадец" & Ukrainian "канадецЬ".  

Doesn't look much different, but it sounds different.

Is there any difference between Rus & Ukr on how they say "Australian" or "English"?

Where would you like to go - ku-dy b nam pi-ty

Can I ring you - mo-zhna vam/to-bi pe-re dzvo-ny-ty   (vam = formal - to-bi informal)

I'll phone you tomorrow - ya po-dzvo-nyu vam/to-bi za-wtra
