So are you telling me that the way Klaus sings the words that he has no Russian language ability ?

I'm not the Mouse, but went back to listen to Scorpions version (and compare lyrics)....at after a second listen, at times it seems as if he's singing in more in German than Russian.

If the guy says the words in Russian, then I assume he knows what he is singing.

Donnie, are you that naive that you truly believe all opera singers can read, write, understand and speak perfect Italian?

Or that when a well-known pop \ rock artist wishes to open up a new market, he REALLY learns the language of that country - rather than just pronouncing the words that have been written down for him phonetically?

Ms.Mouse I'm English, I only hear English music played.  The Scorp's are one of a handful that have made it in the English music world at that level.

"Latin at best"? Some church hymns and Gaudeamus are sung in Latin indeed, but how the operas (created when Latin has already been a "dead" language for a long time) could possibly be sung in Latin?

LOL! Depends on the Opera. Many are in Italian, some in French (Carmen for example), and yet others are in other languages including Russian.
