I saw this pic and was seriously grossed out. I tryto keep in shape because I have pride. But reality is it's not just AW who let themselves go. AM do it too. I find it even worse because women may at least have the excuse of gaining weight after kids or slower metabolism,shorter bodies. It takes a hell of a lot more effort for us guys to put on the tonage, but damn, Americans are putting a hell of a lot of effort in becoming obese!!

You can expand your statement to North American men in general.  I'm not sure if you were making a statement or expecting a response.  However, I'll throw an opinion out there and say it is a combination of over processed food and lack of routine exercise (meaning as a society we don't even walk to the corner store anymore, escalators for stairs, tramways for movement are even starting to surface in shopping malls, that kind of thing).  Look at our meal portions (restaurants, fast food), We've pretty well super-sized everything.  Apparently the chemicals we're using to preserve our food is now causing our children to enter puberty prematurely and one of the side effects of this is weight gain.  We're in trouble here health wise.

FSU has plenty of overweight people too. Personally, I think here in the West we have issues because of the food quality, our diets and soft drinks.  Definitely agree on the exercise part too.
