I found the forum by chance, started reading threads, somehow ended in Chat room first and it's only now that i am posting here  :biggrin:
I was interested in Westerner's perception of Russians because i am often asked if i am one... In the beginning i was explaining: "No, albeit i am Russian-speaking, but myself i am from a tiny mountainous kingdom in the midst of magical Balkan peninsula blah-blah"
the  people would start giving me those looks :eeekk:
so with time
when asked "are you Russian"
i started replying (in strong pan-slavic accent ;))"You have problem with that?"

Thank you so much! Oh, there is plenty of stuff on my blog about my Russian experience, i've lived for 4y in Moscow and i loved it there, once i got used to cold in the winter  ;D
I had spent first winter in Moscow mostly crying, it was cold (in my country it's Mediterranean climate), i wasn't used to the food, wasn't used to speaking Russian on mundane/ daily topics (you learn classical literature and philosophy and can quote Pushkin and Lermontov by heart, but then don't know what are the basic things in the kitchen called  :laugh:)... Lo and behold, 4y later i've defended my thesis and came back home... and i miss Russia horribly, i miss the snow, i am miss the food... not to mention that i miss my friends badly  :snivel:
