Armenia: Why is nobody looking there?

This occurred to me when reading an article tonight. Here is the case for:

• It is argued that economics drives the mail order bride industry. Well, on the Forbes World's Worst Economies list, Armenia is two notches below Ukraine.
• It is an FSU country
• The women don't look too shabby.
• It is a Christian country
• There are dating sites that focus there
• They speak Russian
• Return flights are circa 10h and £500 from the UK - so comparable with Ukraine or Russia.

Yet nobody ever mentions it.

I suspect it's only because there don't seem to be many Armenian girls on the usual sites that guys use to meet FSUW.  I met one really pretty Armenian girl on EM, but she was the only Armenian I remember seeing. I think you're exactly right about the Armenian women not looking too shabby.

Maybe this will have to be included in the next edition of The Russian Bride Guide.

Definitely.   The Caucasus in general are way, way more patriarchal than Slavic countries.

The better half says Armenian women (and men) are very beautiful when they're young, and Armenian men are quite macho/aggressive, far more than Russian/Ukrainian men.  Status is important.   Very few girls would look abroad, unless her father approved.

There is a large Armenian diaspora, especially since the time that the Turks murdered so many of them, almost a century ago.  Here in the US one example is the singer Cher, whose original (Armenian) name was something like Sarkisian.

More than Russia for sure, I would say they are more similar to Georgia. 
I got very few to join MySpace back when I was helping to grow our presence
there.
