VOTE: Not Yet Attached? Which Country Are You Searching For A Lady In?

We commonly refer to 'Russian women' or Ukrainian women' when discussing dating and marrying in the former Soviet Union.

However, many of those starting out in this now (and those still searching after time) are starting to look further afield and in different places. From the small slice (compared to the whole) of folks who read and participate here, I began to see a slight shift away from Russia a few years ago. That shift seems to have gathered momentum and very few guys seem to head to Russia now.

We still see much activity in Ukraine as it has a well developed dating industry. However, we tend to be seeing less successes there than was once the case. For sure, the places that get the most attention and foot traffic still seem to be producing few marriages.

Several of the last few marriages we have seen here have been to women from the Stans. Are these statistical blips or indicative of a changing face of the whole 'mail-order bride' industry? Lets see.

The question in the poll to all those members who are not yet attached is: Which country are you looking in?

I did not vote in your poll, but I am attached to a lady in Uzbekistan right now.

However, I did not make a search for women in Uzbekistan. We just found each other.

FWIW, I am taking the advice of the folks here to concentrate on the 'Stans but I do look into UA RU Georgia Moldova and Belarus.

By the way, I met 2 Lithuanian girls when I traveled recently and are FB friends with them. Sometimes when I check out their FB friends and friends of those friends, I am in awe of their beauty. Yes, I am being superficial. Too bad women in PL LT and Romania aren't in EM and other dating web sites.  Or maybe they are and I haven't discovered them.

That said, I cannot think of any country that I would avoid a priori.

I haven't decided, cause it can be anywhere, depending with whom I might be in contact. The question here is what is more important, the person or the region.

I recall perusing a few Arab, Indian and Middle East English language dating sites (There is an Iranian Cupid site here). At the same time I was also browsing US, Scandinavian, French and German sites.

I settled on the FSU as I had been there already and they have a similar Christian based/European culture. I preferred to stick with educated Christian white women really, so the FSU seemed the obvious choice after some investigation. I knew some Russian guys in Estonia who all insisted Russia was where it was at for what they called 'proper women', so I looked there to see what would occur.......
