UK Citizen tourist visa
« on: April 09, 2012, 02:33:10 PM »
If anybody with experience could advise me on what Visa I would need to enter Russia for a maximum of 3 days it would be most helpful.

I plan on travelling to Saint Petersburg via Estonia and return along this path.

I found this link online http://ru.vfsglobal.co.uk/

It says

'A 'Tourist voucher' and a 'Tourist confirmation' document stamped and signed by authorized
person. They can be obtained through your hotel or an approved travel agent who deals with trips
to Russia, and should be valid for the entire duration of your trip. The stamp and all details should
be clearly readable.'

So how hard is this to obtain or should I go with a company that can deal with it all for me as one?

Thanks

P.S Thinking of going in early July.

Easy, but not that cheap since u need the visa and the invite, let one co. do it, no idea of the costs now was a bout 60 quid all in, bet on a ton now, bit of a waste for three days!

U used to need to 'register' inside three days before not sure if this applies nowadays but just be aware Russia just makes everything awkward and hard, like they're still a Super-power....

Did you not enjoy yourself out there then no?  ;D I like it when somebody doesn't hold back and speaks their mind, it's good.

Have you done a TR that's on here for me to read?

Was thinking of visiting Saint Petersburg for a few nights, nowhere else.

I have a friend who says she can put me up for a few nights and show me the sights. I'm not going here to find a woman or wife hunt, more general tourism off the beaten track where I'm not surrounded by thousands of Stag parties like the rest of Eastern Europe.

Yeah I loved it there no problem but it;s like they say about Calcutta, I'm glad I've seen it so I don't have to go back...

And I would and do go back but the novelty wears off a bit, it's a bit like going to Sheffield, haha!

lukeyboy: Consider going to anywhere in the FSU as a necessary evil that has to be done. A bit like a visit to the Dentist.

Cheers Manny, wasn't sure if it was up to date or not but if I do go then I will most likely use them from the recommendations alone.

Is there anything I need to be aware of? Apart from babooshkas and bent cops?

Il most likely be travelling via coach from Tallinn, or possibly flying but I will be going to Saint P only :( Moscow sounds way out of my budget.
