Her mom was denied a travel visa to USA
« on: February 27, 2012, 05:13:46 AM »
Her mom just applied at the Ukraine US embassy and was just denied a travel visa to enter into the USA. We are not married yet but when we do, is there any type of appeal or form that we can file to help bring her mom for a visit unto the USA?

Each instance is a case by case basis.
Each applicant needs to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that they have a compelling reason to return from their trip and not overstay their visa.
Each applicant has to demonstrate enough financial wherewithal for the trip +
Your application and the submitted evidence are what the application is judged on.
I would reexamine everything and insure the above have been met beyond a doubt and clearly for the officer to review and decide upon.

Sorry to hear of the refusal. I'm not familiar with the us visa process. On the next application make sure all the bases are covered, t's crossed and i's dotted. Good luck.
The first year is the hardest, I heard. Then it was the first two years are the hardest. Now I'm told its the first seven years..............

Why do you want your MIL to visit you?

I would give you many pointers to getting her visa, but I will spare you this time.

I just put mine on a plane back to Ukraine.

Not enough information to assist you.

You say you're not married; is your fiancee here yet?  How long? When is the marriage?

Why does your future MIL want to visit?

For your future MIL; Does she have a job? Does she own her own home/flat?  Does she have any other family members still in Ukraine?  Has she traveled to any other countries?

All visa applications are done on a case-by-case basis.  There are many factors that affect the decision, and no, there are no other forms to fill out or appeals if the application is denied.

The US government by policy views ALL visitors as impending immigrants.  A visitor must show substantial ties to their home country and there must be compelling evidence that they will return to their home country, otherwise, no visa.
