... it was quite normal advice to avoid using providers who could only accept payment through Western Union because it tended to speak to the likelihood of having problems with the provider...

Hmmm...

We have a current commercial member Dr. Bubba who only does Western Union and Paypal...

Vinny, you comment on your own case, a relatively small business, presumably in a low risk niche and, as you told us, where the client is present. I doubt that many of Adate's clients don't recognise the payment - not too many vans used in their business I'd warrant, none of Adate's transactions are made in person.

Client not present cases are a tad different to a bloke paying a tradesman.

Go do the reading then get back to me to tell me that I am incorrect.

If you can't even get your clients to remember the name of your business then something is going wrong in your customer relationships don't you think? The point I made seems to stand.

Of course if you are running a large internet based service business then you may wish to share your payment processor info with Adate.

Oh, AJs first Russian wife seemed a very nice person - do you know different? The point is that back when AJ was looking for his first Russian wife it was quite normal advice to avoid using providers who could only accept payment through Western Union because it tended to speak to the likelihood of having problems with the provider. Mentioning that was to give some context to AJ and remind him of what he learned a few years ago and may have forgotten.

For Vinny and anyone else who thinks that charge backs have no cost to US businesses:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chargeback

A similar situation occurs in the UK too, notwithstanding Vinny's protestations to the contrary. ;)

My advice to people who chat on forums is that if you don’t know anything about a particular subject then its best to keep ones mouth shut. Relying on Google and Wiki will frequently make one look a tad dim.

For the record and so that you know for future reference, my business is a high risk one and none of my customers are present. My clients are something entirely different to my customers with the latter having no relationship with me and it’s often with some reluctance that they are ‘forced’ to carry out a transaction. My recharge rate is less than 0.25% which is pretty good going in the circumstances and when ‘challenged’ 95% of these repay.

However, just like you, payments to me have different names on them to that of the product or service. I have yet to have a problem with somebody wondering what they had paid for or who they had bought it from it is a customer service issue because if a client misleads themself it is because the vendor did not do his job right.

When you are processing over 10k payments a month worth several million pounds get back to me and we’ll compare our KPI’s.

Run it past me again, who’s being a bit of a twat?  :chuckle:

Vinny with the UK in its second quarter of recession, is your business doing higher volumes of transactions?

Like everyone else I know, times are hard. Everyone seems to be working harder for less at the moment with the only upshot being an even more than usual increased focus on costs which is never a bad thing.

AJ why would I join a dating site and misrepresent myself in order to see that which I would expect to happen?
I simply am not that stupid.

Vinny a quick read of your wordy posts seems to suggest that you now understand my point about charge backs and agree. You could have just said so. ;-)

So you'd expect to see exactly what?
And since you havn't taken the 5 minutes of time to do, so, how do you know that what you expect from your musings would be accurate?
You do not, and that's been the point all along,

Stop dodging , or actually go to the website find out,
if you cant bother to..then your entire BS all along is just that, drivel from the sidelines.

You don't have to join anything, you don't have to have a profile,
you needn't misrepresent yourself in any way.
You have not paid attention, likely intentionally to dodge doing any research into what you are pontificating on.
You see andrew, you simply have to go to the website to gain any small amount of knowledge about it.

As far as stupid, yes I consider someone that will go on and on  for several threads, and waste tons of time in replying about any given website, without ever bothering to type in that websites URL  into  their  favorite browser, as rather dense,  a forum troll, or having some serious issues.
It really is that simple.

she had a hip with bad habits , and a shake that was a bit obscene

Ok, so I just had a look. Total of girls 29192, online right now 518. Every min pops out chat invite from one or two random girl which is obviously somehow automated by software. What else should I find there?
To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant.

Andrew, we know that your reading comprehension is poor as you’ve proven many times, which is surprising that since most of your experience in life comes from reading about what others have done.

You advised the readership that vendors get charged for charge-backs and I demonstrated that based upon my own actual experience this is not necessarily so.

Nice try at impersonating an expert but you were 'andrew factually incorrect' as usual.
